Well, aaaactually... you're "oddly shaped polygon domes" are called geodesic domes... And they come with a lot of advantages ;) 1) they're easier to build, as they only consist of straight materials. Straight tubings/beams/supports, straight panes of glass. 2) they're cheaper to maintain: if one panel breaks, it's just a matter of getting more or less a default pane. If you look at the "normal" circular domes... Each section in height uses a different pane. 3) they're cheaper, see above ;)

They aint geodesic domes, they are made of specificlly shaped triangles to be the most efficient in strength/weight ratio. The "oddly shaped polygon domes" are just a footbal ball pattern, that have many of the advantages above, but require more thickness to same structural integrity ;D

Build a Structural piece in abd extending above the main large dome with a "Command Center" on top. Obviously with a crew hatch at the base inside the dome

I look forward to k&k adapters for this,plus external silos,customisable glass in the domes,dome hydroponic facilities, maybe even domes that have garage doors for vehicles? Also I can see this being great for making some sort of habitation bubble on spacecraft with maybe some sort of greenhouse mod or weird space yatch viewing deck within.

I'm pretty sure K&K adapters are coming, and the life-support-related features exist in USI mods (featured in his own OP video for the mod). I'm also hoping to see garages and docking port-like parts to connect the domes/tunnels.

"Oddly Shaped", Half Spheres, Pentagons and Hexagons. From Someone that has apparently never seen or heard of...Soccer balls, Geodesic domes, Buckminster Fuller, Bucky Balls, Carbon-60, 20-Sided Dice, Or A KSP Command pod ball. Good Grief Charlie Brown!

Thank you for these mod reviews. I love the domes. Thanks Mark. How do I get them to the planets? Do they fold or are they somehow constructed on site? Which brings up, how did you construct them outside?

Right before watching this video I flew into orbit around Minimus, went on EVA with one of my kerbals and then I landed on Minimus using only EVA fuel. However He Is still there cus I didn't have enough fuel to get back up. But now the others are home. Yay!

Cool mod, but I tend to make more mobile bases for maximum science spam. These include massive rovers, planes and some other vehicles depending on the surface or if it has an atmosphere or not.

How do you transport them to other celestial bodies? They seem kinda big and un-aerodynamic to stick on top of a rocket! Very, very cool though!

Do they pack up into any KIS containers so you can send them to another planet "in pieces" and assemble them in situ? Or is the only way to get them somewhere by using HyperEdit? (I presume that launching them or getting them to survive entry from orbit onto any planet is pretty much impossible due to size and aerodynamic forces.)

I would suggest extraplanetary launchpads to build these in place on other world. as it is possible to launch them ... but very very difficult.

Rigatoni Real If it’s on a different planet other than Kerbin, then no. You would have to make the dome it’s own planet, then give it oxygen, which is impossible.

i love the idea of this, but..... it is almost impossible to build any kind of base... the dome never wants to attach correctly.. im not an expert so this mod is extremely hard to use for me... i have spent hours trying to build with no success.

it did, but like I said at the beginning of the vid it's one of the mods that the domes just felt like an afterthought to me with more focus on other parts.

use kerbal attachment mod and inventory mod with one of those big shipping containers drop that on a planet with the parts and let the kerbals assemble it there maybe?
