My first idea would be to get it replaced under warranty if you're the original purchase. If not, it sounds like the remote itself is the issue, but if you're going to replace the remote then I would suggest just spending the extra 10 to 15 dollars to get the remote and receiver as a pair so that you know for a fact that they were designed to work together. One thing to note is that all of these different makers get their parts from the same place. The same remote is used across many different brands. There are even other remote that have the same internals but look different on the outside. This is why I recommend just getting the remote and receiver together as a pair. I would still use the part number off of the original receiver. Not the remote, but the receiver itself.

It could also go the other way around, the remote and receiver could look the same, but have different internals or different frequencies.

I sent the manufacturer a video of what was going on with the remote and accelerator not working, and they confirmed that the receiver was the problem. This all happened before I found the blown capacitor. The receiver could still be defective even without any visual defects.

Just went through the exact same thing with under the hood model . Tested right before getting my 1year old on to it and was working on rc mode but pressed the Park button or the pair button (not too sure haha ) while driving it in rc mode on the remote and the remote stopped responding ..causing it to do a burnout against the wall for a good 20 seconds 😅 unplugged the battery to reset the power wheels ..now here I am watching this video 🎉

I think some receivers only work with some remotes. Did you get the exact same part number as the original? I know there are also options to get the receiver and the remote as a pair.

I would probably start with checking the plugs on the receiver. Then, do you know how to use a voltmeter? I'd use it to see if voltage is getting to the motor that turns the wheels when you press the turn button on the remote. I think it's mounted on the steering column. Also check any gears that connect the motor to the steering column or the steering linkage to make sure that it's making good contact. I'm not looking at the jeep right now, this is just off the top of my head. Also, are you able to take the remote apart? I wonder if the button is making contact in the remote. If not, then it'd be cheap to just buy a new remote with a new receiver. You can get the remote separate from the receiver, but it only costs a few bucks extra to get the receiver as well. Please let me know if any of this helped, or didn't help. I'm really curious what your fix is.

@@dadgonetired2306 I forgot to mention that I converted the battery. It is now going off a dewalt battery.

@@tonydang482 not sure if the Dewalt battery has anything to do with your issue. I would imagine that your issue would be with either the remote or the receiver, or both. On a side note, I normally wouldn't change the size of the battery without changing the motor as well. The motors are designed to run off of 12v batteries. An 18v battery could burn up the motors or just shorten the life of the motors. I do plan on putting a 24v battery in this one, but I'll also be changing out the motors as well.

I followed the instructions in the manual, which happened to be the same as most recommendations i found online, and charged the battery for 18 hours before the first use.

It sounds like the same issue i was having in the video.

Where is the blue wire located? Under the seat? Or under the dash?

Is the end of the blue wire bare or is there a plug? Does the radio turn on with no sound? Or does the radio not turn on at all?

It is under the hood. Bare on the end. Radio turns on, shows battery volts, shows FM but no channel picks up. I plugged mp3 in aux but still no sound. Horn didn't sound either. Same steering wheel as one in your video.

Sorry, I haven't gotten around to opening ours up to see where the blue wire goes, or if we even have one. Dad life.

Hi. Part number and name is in the video description. I've seen different part numbers for control receivers that all look the same. Best bet is there should be a sticker on the receiver itself.

A lot of people convert to an 18V battery, but they end up burning up the wheel motors that were only rated for a 12V battery. If you're going to "upgrade" the battery, then you should upgrade the wheel motors as well.

This one was purchased just over 2 years ago and does not have Bluetooth. However, we hist purchased another for our youngest. The radio looks the same, but this new one has Bluetooth.

Was it reading before? It automatically reconnects when you turn on the car. First turn on the remote by pressing any button, then turn on the car. If it doesn't connect, something is wrong.

@@dadgonetired2306 after we let the car sit over the winter we have to sync the remote to the car all over again, the car still works separately from the remote we just don’t remember how to sync them back up.

The jeep came a charging plug. I just plug it into the jeep and any 120V outlet.

That really sucks. Which are you turning on first? The remote? Or the car?

Are the lights flashing on the remote? You made sure to plug in all plugs?
