@@isopropyltoxicity Exactly bro. Bands from back in the days didn't have much to assist them in making a perfect sounding recording/song, it was all up to them and their talents primarily. Back then you wanted to minimize song takes/performances on analog tape, when recording technology was harder to correct mistakes. Musicians just kinda had to be good out of necessity back then.

Brilliant call. Shocked that hasn't been in the queue yet. It would be ideal if reaction vids started with a song or two from the band's first album and went forward in chronology. This would truly allow one to understand how the band actually evolved or changed over time and often shows how the metal genre changed décade over décade as well. Some were leaders, many were followers.

"...kind of getting a Jimi Hendrix 'Voodoo Child' vibe " . KK Downing is a huuuuge Hendrix fan. In his book he actually talks about Hendrix extensively and even says that after seeing Hendrix live for the first time he was inspired to buy his first guitar. I think he ended up seeing Hendrix like 5 or 6 times before he died. He even mentions stealing one of Hendrix's fuzz pedals at one point, and it's also the reason he loved the Gibson flying V's so much. So, nailed it - early Priest is pretty heavily Hendrix influence for sure.

Played this song for my non-metal loving wife the other day. That last guttural scream at the end, before the final "NO NO NO" gave her goosebumps, put tears in her eyes and made her heart race so much it took her a few minutes to get over it. She'll never be a Priest fan, but she LOVES this song!! I'm surprised the reviewer didn't comment on it. The rage and pain! Not only good singing, but good acting as well! Anyone who's ever had love lost to booze or drugs can relate!

@ TruthandjusticeXXL YES YES YES ! ! As a phenomenal deep track from the album "Ram it Down", it can't be beat ! A perfect showcase of Rob Halford's vocal range. But if you want hard and heavy, like "Painkiller" then I'd also suggest "Hard as Iron" from "Ram it Down" as well.

Bolgar i have to agree. I grew up listening to Maiden but i have to give the nod to Judas Priest mostly based on the merits of this one song. It's that fuckin good and is much superior to anything Iron Maiden has.

Electric Eye is a really great song by them that is famous. But it's kind of basic compared to a lot of their shit. We're trying to blow this guys mind so we should pick something a little better.
@Walamonga13135 жыл бұрын
sbinreal mcironcock The Hellion/Electric Eye is a perfect portrayal of 80s Priest. But he could do The Sentinel or Battle Hymn/One Shot At Glory instead. Or for 70s stuff, Here Come The Tears or Sinner might be good.

Most people equate Jp to Painkiller, but Painkiller was JP’s attempt to chase the new thrash metal. Most JP fans didn’t care for the new direction as we loved the old sound from the Metal Gods. British Steel really started them to gain worldwide recognition. The live concerts were quite the experience!
@monicalopez63985 жыл бұрын
This is the best! Thanks to my awesome mother, I grew up on Judas Priest. She would blare these albums (vinyl) all through the house. She still has them & jams them all the time. I've seen them many times. Favorite show was w/my mom & they played entire British Steel album live. Best shit ever!
