The fact that you're passing everyone while narrating it is just another way of showing how great a rider you are. Tom can jump on any bike and hold his own. I've seen him do it a few times.

Tom, you should be in the slower group. The lines you're taking are so wrong and you're turning in way to soon throwing you wide and missing the apex...

+RidingWithTom this video is hard to watch. not hating i enjoy your usual videos long time fan, but you have a lot to learn about track riding technique. it is not about your speed or overtaking the other bikes, but about learning lines and apex's and improving your skill. if you did a track day focusing on technique it will make you a better rider.

2 weeks ago, was my first time ever driving a gas powered vehicle/motorcycle, so I went with my 11 year old cousin (on his bday) to go and try pocketbike on an outdoor track for the first time. Keep in mind, I'm only 15, so this was really awesome for me. Tho I drove out on the grass, and flew off my bike once, the rest of the time it went perfect haha. I even got in front of some of the other guys, so that was nice lol. You're probably just like "okay whatever" but danm, I can see why people love this sport so much. Even my uncle drives on racetracks in other counties. Fucking awesome shit

@bradster17086 жыл бұрын
dtomic17, I can tell you that the track was Broadford. It is just past Seymour on your way out of Melbourne. It is a bike only track and great fun especially on smaller bikes. Don’t know cost but is much cheaper than a day at Phillip Island.

@iOlsen8 жыл бұрын
+RidingWithTom How does the bike keep it's grip? Don't understand why it doesn't just slide off the track
@GeneralAiron8 жыл бұрын
+iOlsen-_- I'm not sure i can explain this well in english but i'll try. First of all the wheels are in the shape of a cone so there's still a lot of contact area between the wheels and the road even when the bike tilts. When the wheels are spinning it creates gyroscopic force which tries to straighten the bike. When correctly tilting in corners the gyroscopic force is equal to gravity trying to pull the bike down
@iOlsen8 жыл бұрын
K-Rauta It's not the downforce im having a hard time understanding, its sideways. How can the friction from the tires be so good that when going so fast, the bike simply doesnt slide away?
@GeneralAiron8 жыл бұрын
iOlsen-_- that's because of the shape of the wheel. When going sideways it has as much contact area as when it's going straight
@TiniFugative8 жыл бұрын

Hi Tom. You seem to know your way round bikes. I just started taking lessons to get my license to drive a bike and was trying to choose the correct first bike for myself. I am a fairly tall guy (188cm) And pretty well built if I do say so myself (88kilos without anything on.) The bike that caught my eye (and it seems to be a really popular one in Lithuania) is the Yamaha Yzf R125. Year 2009 model (there is also an option for a 2008 model). Haven't gone to get a look at either of those, but I am kinda worried that they might be too small to me. Got any tips?
@BeastTrozz20008 жыл бұрын
the r125 might be a little too short for you..why not just go for a Honda CB650F? or the MT-07
@anonimas128 жыл бұрын
HuHue I am new to the biking scene and it's just that r125 caught my eye. I will check out your suggestions. Thank you.

i have never done a track day yet, just wondering why the black tape on the mirrors?

+JCR Motovlogs if a rock kicks up and shatters the glass it wont fall on the track
@jcrrrrrrrrr8 жыл бұрын
ahhh, i see
@bradster17086 жыл бұрын
The real reason they ask you to put tape on your mirrors is so you don’t use them. Most people first time on a track will worry too much about who is behind them instead of what is in front. You tape the mirrors to take away the distraction and concentrate fully on riding your own lines. If anyone wants to overtake, the onus is on them to do it safely. Breaking glass is a secondary concern.
@zhack3d4 жыл бұрын
You have to rev it like you rev on a drag race and Im sure it will overtake all the 300s

@roshangomez7 жыл бұрын
GG CC prevents glass sharpness to be all over the track in an accident, same goes for tape on headlamps for race cars on track
@bradster17086 жыл бұрын
It is to stop you using them and look in front. Mirrors are a bad distraction, not needed on track

Mario Turco, not a stupid question. Tape stops you looking in the mirrors, they are a distraction. No need to see behind, just concentrate on what is in front. Common practice on track days.

@nunyabuisness19928 жыл бұрын
supermotos don't break easy so it won't matter as much if you stuff up
@princefancybum46058 жыл бұрын
There's a big difference in riding style from your 675 to a sumo, so you'd probably be more confortable on an older 600. Unless you've got a lot of mx experience then you'll adapt to the sumo fairly quickly
@MrDBOW128 жыл бұрын
I started out riding on dirt bikes and street on a Sumo is was a turd though. I just assumed a Sumo bc it will be waaaay cheaper to fix after I crash
@princefancybum46058 жыл бұрын
+DBOWshow if you're used to the geometry of a dirt bike then you should adapt fine. Only other problem is they're going to require slightly more maintenance than a sports bike (frequent valve adjustments and such) and they're going to struggle on the faster tracks. But if your local circuits are relatively small with tight corners you'll be better off with the supermoto

Awesome vid thanks, was fun to watch. A small criticism if I may... The 'girls' attitude at the start went out of fashion with the Honda GL145 (some people thought it was cool once but trust me it wasn't), and one other small thing your confidence and attitude is great but over confidence kills people on a motorcycle. You don't have to consider the ramblings of a random nobody you tuber but remembering what I say may save your skin one day? :) from an old motorcyclist!
