I just got that Tokyo drain tube for Christmas! I'm actually excited to change my oil now because it's not going to be a big mess all over the frame!

I have one from Tokyo off-road for my 300. Use it often. Makes it clean and easy

Changing the oil is always such a pain but that looks a lot cleaner and easy to use.

Great vid! Ordering mine today. You’re right, always using the cup method in the past sucked. Jay, what year is your bike? Is that the stock shifter lever?

I’ve been using the motorex, switching to this won’t effect the clutch? I run the delo 400 in my diesel and it cost me a little more than the bike 😊

Great video… don’t want to turn this into an oil debate but I just bought a 300i and I’m trying different oils on my case. The original owner used moterex who said it had 7 hours left before it needed to be changed, was black when I dumped it. I replaced it with Motul 7100 10w40 for one ride. I plan to drain it and try the 7100 15w50 next. I have a recluse clutch and trying to find the smoothest shifting I can.

I use the same tool. Watch his channel he has a ton of great videos and makes other custom tools. The XRC bushings for the starter are great too

I've been using Mobil1 synthetic for the longest time, zero issues. You can get the gallon for 22 bucks at Walmart.

Jay, are you using the Shell Rotella T4 in your KTM 4 Strokes also? I’ve been using it but there’s so much noice on the old inter web just nice to hear what you think
@dirtbiketv14 жыл бұрын
Yes works great---and cheap so can feel good about changing oil more often.

Rotella is a Great gear case oil. So it works awesome for 2t gear cases. I wouldn’t use it in a 4t. Meaning it works great for clutches and gears but would definitely harm the cam lobes and crank bearings due to the missing friction modifiers.

I use the same oil change tool from Mark at Tokyo Off Road. Works greats!

Jack Bauer Tokyo makes (or sells) a nice starter bushing update kit for the KTM 250 & 300s. He is a great person to learn from like Jay👍👍🏻👍

You can go cheap and change often or go big and not so much. I tried the rottella..... It went way quickly. I read something that hey had modified the formula to have friction modifiers in it. maybe I will try it again. I have kinda of the same tool from a , but it has a plastic plug and shorter tube. The Tokyo off road one is much nicer. If I had it to buy again... I'd do that. STR has other great stuff though. If you can find the same thread pitch you can actually order a brass fitting with barbs on the other side, but its pretty short.

Do you have a solution if you overtighten and strip the drain plug?

Can you still use this oil with a recluse auto clutch
@dirtbiketv13 жыл бұрын
Yes-- they do have their own specific oil they recommend but the Shell is fine.

KTM's are the best!!!
@kristopherpuffer30194 жыл бұрын
That is a pretty awesome ideal, i know on some two strokes removal of the skid plate is a pain in the butt. Rotella oil is awesome on average four oil changes for $13.

@@kristopherpuffer3019 Get the Tokyo oil change tube he has a lot of GREAT KTM tools on there. KTM/Husky/Beta/Sherco/GasGas EURO owns the 2 stroke off road scene and enduro.
