Stephan de Hoog Nou, de buren hebben vergelijkbaar speelgoed. Dat gaat dus prima. Al ik een beetje voorzichtig doe met me rechter hand, valt de herrie nogal mee. Als de boel goed warm is en je belast hem stevig, is het echt sensationeel. Niet de meeste herrie, maar wel prachtig vol en dof. En vwbt het sturen, het is de meest makkelijke fiets die ik ooit heb gehad. (een paar enduro's uitgezonderd)

KTM Superduke Nou dat is een leuke competitie met de buren. Dat is bij mij wel anders met de buren. Ik ben ook maar overgestapt naar een naked bike ook voor t lekkere sturen van de fiets (vooral woon werk). Alleen helaas afgelopen zaterdag is me fiets van het karretje gevallen, helaas veel schade (kuipschade). Maar goed onderdelen zijn al onderweg en hoop snel weer te rijden. Veel rij plezier met de DUKE. Ben zeer jaloers op je fiets.

The mapping came with the Akra full system the K&N was also included. So no extra aid was needed. The dealer uploaded the race mapping into the existing computer. Took about 5 minutes. DB wise, I live right next to the track, no complaints there. And I didn't put in the DB-killer. 2 cilinders rock

Vigor Mortsen No, it's loud, but not so loud it's constantly annoying everybody. I think the mid muffler takes a lot of noise away and leaves the low tones beautiful intact.

Got 4 exhaust for the RC8, even with the oem I got measured 99db @ Spa Franco static test. Hard Bikes to get silenced.

240 was het maximale waar ik aan kon blijven hangen. Heb wel een filmpje gezien van iemand die 300 aantikt.

+KTM Superduke ik heb gister de 300 gehaald het was echt eng als de nete om zo snel tussen andere autos door te vliegen maar een heerlijk gevoel en ze deed het fantastisch ze klonk zo mooi als ze op volle toeren is en er tegenaan loopt te tikken ze klinkt dan gewoon als een monster maar het os een heerlijk gevoel van vrijheid em omdat ik zo snel ging was het onmogelijk om me te flitsen dus ben ik er mee weggekomen maar goed als je het lef vind doe het dan je zal geen spijt krijgen maar je moet wel een ervaren rijder zijn die zn verstand en gedachten aan de kant kan zetten om alleen te kijken waar de auto's niet zijn als je dat kan is 300 halen voor jou ook mogelijk ik zeg alleen wel stop dan wel even bij een benzinepomp om uit te rusten en te tanken want ze is niet meer zuinig dan

De Akra wordt inclusief luchtfilter (K&N), een kitje om de luchttoevoer naar je uitlaat (een milieu dingetje) af te sluiten en de race mapping die speciaal door KTM voor dit systeem gemaakt zijn, geleverd. De Austin levert een aantal systemen, welke allemaal minder dempen en dus ook minder weerstand hebben dan de Akra. Dit betekend dat de mapping voor de Akra niet ideaal is voor de Austin. Dus vwbt je mapping heb je een probleem. De tussendemper die op de plaats van de katalysator komt, maakt het grootste verschil: iets doffer geluid, iets minder veel DB's, iets meer tegendruk (volgens KTM de ideale hoeveelheid). Dit is dus ongetwijfeld beter voor je blok. Vandaar ook dat je garantie door loopt. Als je voor zoveel mogelijk kabaal gaat zit je met die Austin beter, die is ook nog behoorlijk goedkoper en ziet er gaaf uit. Als geld je niet uit maakt en gewoon de beste wil, zou ik de Akra kopen. Heb ik ook gedaan. Awesome geluid ook, maar net niet zo hard dat je er zelf helemaal gek van wordt.

Gozer 1290 O ja, voor op de baan is de Akra in ieder geval beter, want de Austin maakt simpelweg zoveel kabaal dat je er nergens meer mee terecht kunt.

+TrigunVS O and I looked up the PCV tune. I would really advise against it. KTM race mappings are free, give a lot of extra torque an Hp's good throttle repose. just buy the proper exhaust en have the dealer put in the proper mapping. no additional wires and shit. this is the setting KTM puts on it's track bikes and they kick ass.

Filip Czuk it will. but it all depends on the fuel and ignition mapping which will determine the drop in gas milage. thing is, this bike is probably not a fuel sipper. it's a naked bike for one, 2 its a naked superbike lol.

+surg23 You're totally right. I was a bit disappointed at first. But while execrating end engine breaking it sounds ok. And the "low" noise levels at contant speed, helps keeping the police away. So all in all, I'm happy. If you're looking for max sound, the Austin systems might do the trick.

KTM Superduke I recently bought the black 1290 SDR and was surprised just how good the stock exhaust sounded. It makes my enduro bike sound like shit, which has the CF Akro slip-on. It would probably sound a lot better with a full system, but $2000 for a header is a bit rich. I got the 2k of free KTM powerparts with the bike and was tempted to get this pipe, but it sounded so damn good stock that I went with a rear bag, alarm systems and other stuff. Great bike though, I just adore the engine characteristics. The torque is massive.

+surg23 The stock exhaust has a DB killer welded in. I think that it can be taken out. Boris has a cat removal / link pipe set for a few euro's. An option is to by the slip on akra and combine this with the Bodis link pipe. Mine has the full system and this set should have te best performance. But stock had plenty. And it was ridiculously expensive. I do think the stock pipe doesn't look as good as the Akra. But slip on or full system, they nearly look the same.

KTM Superduke The Akro definitely looks better than stock, I'll give you that. The weight savings would also be welcome- not necessarily for power, but for handling. As you put it, it's got a crap-tonne of power out of the box, more than enough for a noob like me anyway. I am interested in shaving some fat off though (the bike and myself) Maybe I'll consider a cheap slip-on like a wings and possibly a Li-ion battery. I found an article of a guy who modded the shit out of this bike over at the KTM Twins forum. Very extensive modifications and a comprehensive build log. KTM Superduke ....Its not all about the numbers mate, its the curve and where it starts, peaks and finishes...It should be on the dyno chart...They should be able to print that off for you...

the mechanic tipt the tear break lever. you can see the break light turning on. resulting in a temporary dip in the dyno chart. no worries

After putting in the new KTM race mappings in the computer, the bike had to run stationary for a coupe of minutes. The computer used this time to calibrate its settings. The flame just happened at the first real pull. the following tree pulls nothing happened. I guess it it had to do with the unburned remains from calibrating and maybe some production dust in the exhaust. The original system constantly made loud bangs. the Akra just the 2 during the first pull. Are you planing on getting the Akra?

Gozer 1290 Yes, I'm considering it. My bike may never see the track. Wondering if the thrill of riding it on the street in California is worth the cost of the system and the risk of getting cited. Lots of opinions out there. What do you think?

Eric Johnson I think, I didn't need the Akra for the extra HP's. The normal 180 are sufficient. I bought it for te kicks it gives me. It made the bike about 10% more expensive and atleast 25% more fun. It's worth the cost of the system for sure.

z1000 is very different type of bike anyway. I would go SuperDuke. I'm comparing my experience on Z800 vs Super duke 990

+meschio Absolutely not street legal, no problems the last 8000 miles though. And yes the cat is gone, the full akra has a muffler in the location of the cat.

Thomas Dittamo There is no cat, there are two smal dampers, can see strait through. The reason is a beter weight distribution. Keeping the cat would ben er Xxx ridiculous.

+Deva Raj Full system 2400 E, silencer only, don't know. My muffler wouldn't fit on the standart system, because of the spring connection. There is a slipon available via KTM / Akra on the KTM parts site. for an additional 120 E you could by a Bodis link pipe to eliminate the cat. That makes a big difference.

Damn! And I thought my 900€ exhaust was expensive.
