they have to declare state of emergency asking for money, then blame the last president, the rich, the landlords, asking for reparation, no rent for another 3 years, then discuss how racism can ruin the city like that.............. 6 months just for the repair part only.

When this happened in Japan they fixed the issue within a week. I am pretty sure SF can also have the same speedy repairs if they give it priority.

It's not really a classic sinkhole like the ones in FL. The cause is the broken water main that poured out huge amounts of water for many hours.

A few years ago, a gas explosion happened on Geary. I honestly believe a demon came up from hell. The cover-up that a gas line broke.

Depends on the damage. If so then they have to install new pipes and fix the large stretch of road that was affected. Otherwise then just a crappy patch.

I was down there today at 10:30am. I was walking on the Marina Blvd and decided to catch the 22-Fillmore Bus at Chestnut. Then all the 22 Fillmore buses were taken out of service and we had to get off and walk to where ever. I pasted Lombard Street then that was blocked off and full of mud and water. I got to Union and Fillmore and that was Full of Mud and Water and blocked off. I took as left at Union Street and that was yellow taped, but we still could walk the sidewalk. It was wild to see... something out of a bad movie, but this was real life. All the shops are loosing money, folks that have businesses are there trying to recover their inventory and property. It was the strangest thing I ever Saw.

the nation as a whole has some very ancient water, sewage and electrical lines we just keep deferring it and placing bandaids on it without investing in upgrading it because it's too costly.

The Auxiliary Water Supply System is a high pressure water supply network built for the city of San Francisco in response to the failure of the existing emergency water system during the 1906 earthquake. It was originally proposed by San Francisco Fire Department chief engineer Dennis T. Sullivan in 1903, with construction beginning in 1909 and finishing in 1913. The system is made up of a collection of water reservoirs, pump stations, cisterns, suction connections and fireboats. So San Francisco is already prepared in terms of emergency water for the next earthquake.
