Kubota Upgrade: Adding Floorboard Mats to My L3901 (

My latest Kubota tractor add-on is a real upgrade: Floorboard mats. They add a surprising amount of cushion and comfort for my feet. They are also supposed to cut down on the transmission noise. I certainly hope so! I wish I had known about these sooner! Thanks to Neal from Messick’s who recently clued me in on these in a video he did. It turns out that the mats that come standard on the L3302 and L3902 will also fit the L2501, L3301, L3901, L3200 and L3800. I had to have them.

Hi Martin: Added the same mats to my 3901 a month or so ago. They install very nicely and give the tractor a classy look.

First thing I did was add floor mats to my L3301. They weren't available from Kubota 2 years ago. Used horse stall rubber mats from Tractor supply. Cut a pattern from light cardboard. Cut the mats with a utility knife. 3 ft by 4 ft 1/2" thick stall mat, $29.99 as of 8-1-2022. Drill two or three holes that align with the holes already in the floorboards, use elevator bolts to attach. Bolts from Ace Hardware.

Wonderful idea. I was just lamenting the other day that I was wearing through the paint on the floor of my L01. Thanks for sharing the part numbers. They're going on my shopping list.

They look very nice. I think you saw my video where I sprayed my floorboards with truck bed liner. I am liking them that way so far. They wear like iron. Not as nice to look at but still very functional. It drove me nuts to see the paint scuffed off like that. I am quite sure it did you too Martin. You keep your equipment looking so nice.

Another well thought out production showing the all the details you are well noted for Martin. I think all three of my Kubotas came with them from the factory, but they are all "B" series tractors. The "L" series was cut back on amenities like tilt steering, floor mats and other minor options to make a bigger tractor more affordable...at least that's what I think anyway. I found over the years though that the occasional fuel spillage, unless immediately cleaned, will slowly deteriorate the mats. When that happens they become soft and occasionally tear themselves loose if you twist your full weight on one foot. Don't bother to ask how I know.....LOL Yeah, I'm a slob....'nuff said.

Greetings Martin! I saw your comment on Neil's video several days ago and thought "Martin will be doing a video on his install for sure", and here we are...and quick too!! Its great that Kubota has recently added these as an interchangeable item. In fact, it was something I wanted for my L3901 when I bought it new in 2015. I knew the deck and step would be worn down in no time. So I decided to make my own using a heavy duty rubber horse stall mat from TSC. Made a template, and they came out great. Even made a small mat for the step and the middle hump. Keep the videos coming, you're one of my favorite channels on here. Be well. Michael

My Kioti came with mats, and I got it only a month ago so, I should be good for a while! But, I really enjoy your channel throughly so I watched, liked and yes, commented!! I think rubber mats are essential!! And as usual, you don’t just throw them in…you do it to perfection! It’s what sets you apart!!

I enjoy your videos. I recently installed mats on my L2501. I found the mats snap in easier by reaching under the floorboard and pulling the “snaps” thru the hole. I liked your idea of adding soapy water. Keep the videos coming.

Just an update.......the new L4802 is supplied with rubber mats that will fit the L4701 perfectly. Just specify if HST or shuttle shift. Installation is a breeze. 10 minutes...maybe.

They sure look nice. And good purpose. I'd love to have some for my L4701HST. I wonder why they are not available for my model? Mine does'nt have the pronounced middle hump, but I wonder if a pair like yours would fit and look as good? Or why they don't make a onepice mat for the L4701 and larger?

I have a 2020 L2501.......................Kubota is TOO PROUD of their products. You can easily go purchase generic rubber Horse Trailer mats and cut them to fit for far less money.

Not that I know of, but you could make one easily by adapting a small rear seat floorboard mat for a car. Thanks for watching!

I bought a pair of these floor mats from Messick’s after watching your video. The bolts holes for the 2 bolts that go through the mat and screw into the floorboard on the right hand side do not line up. Did you experience this problem also. I have a 2021 Kabota L 2501. HST.

Kubota L5030 starts but when I step on gas ( it’s diesel) pedal it dies. What should I look for? Are there some obvious things before I call a mechanic. Thanks

I’m assuming you mean the forward/backward pedal because I think the throttle should be on the dashboard near the steering wheel. If that’s the case, it could either be a transmission problem or the fuel system (maybe a clogged fuel filter). Hopefully it’s the fuel system since I think that would be the less expensive repair.
