Nice video. We've had the same incidents with bales chasing us down hills in the past, but we've learned that when we are baling on hills to back up and put the bale against the hill so it doesn't roll. Very well put together demo

Brings back memories of baling with I 4240 and a John Deere 510 round baler back in the 80s and 90s !! We custom baled a lot of hay and ran a Vermeer before that but the Deere was easier to start a bale and just less problems then the Vermeer was back then

The Kuhn baler will make silage bales much better than the john deere. The European balers are just made heavier for silage while Deere and New Holland were just originally made for dry hay only then updated to do silage. That's just my experience with them and it not my money that will be spent. Good luck

As long as you have a good dealer and can get parts for it the Kuhn looks like a nice baler. I still prefer the Case IH balers for parts availability etc. Mine is the older Case IH RS 451 with floatation tires, bale monitor, wrap, and kicker all for $8,500 used. The farmer that traded it went for a silage model. Round baling is the way to go. You should also consider a silage model as drying hay is not easy in NY.

Really like the Kuhn equipment seems to be built really well we have a Kuhn rake and Tedder and like them both really well..always have kinda been interested in the Kuhn bailers but over here in Ohio the JD dealerships are Kuhn dealers as well and they like selling the Kuhn rake and other equipment but when it comes to the bailers the push the deer bailers they don't like to sell the Kuhn bailers and if u show any interest they always have some good b.s reason y they can't get them or something....wish I could of tried one but since Deere wouldn't get me one I bought a New Holland rb450 bailer and it is a really really good bailer 👍👍..

We don't have a round baler as you know. Sonne Farms uses a John Deere round baler with a 3 bale accumulator. I don't know if all makes have one or not but I think that would be great for picking them up from the field. @mikep781010 ай бұрын
Well Ted I'm baling that fast for 2 main reasons #1 ground conditions. We just picked up this field and it was pretty rough and second is I'm flying a drone and baling. If you paid attention in the video I said if we go with this baler we would have the ramp put on it so indont have to back up. I've seen bales out of 30 year old new hollands and there is no way your baler is better than this one
@crazyhass8410 ай бұрын
@@mikep7810 my baler is paid off! Mine probably arent as dense so u might make a few less bales. The drone can fly itself. I still dont get the logic of a 40 yr old tractor with crappy seat and no suspenion. U could bale 2x as fast with a better tractor. Not to mention be way less exhausted at the end of the day. All i can afford is a 20yr old tractor but at least it has air ride seat and ifs radials. Rides fantatic vs the 4440 i grew up running.
