Udit Narayanan is a Hindi playback singer. He doesn't know Tamil. The words are written in Hindi....transliterated is the correct word I believe. Shreya Ghoshal is Hindi as well but sings in other Indian languages. However there are numerous playback singers who have sung within the various Indian film industries while some know multiple languages.

In fact it was Scorsese who asked FHF’s founder Shivendra Dungarpur for any films from India that needed restoration. Dungurpur suggested both Kummatty and Thamp, and the restored versions are released recently. All of Aravindan’s films’ Master negatives were lost, hence they used the copy prints from the film archive in pune to make negatives and restore using them.

Don't worry.... They will not get sick listening to this song many times. This because they can't get to hear the full version of the song. They only get a basic beats and simple singing. That's AR Rahman speciality... He only finishes the whole song after the shooting of the movie. They will only get to hear the full version of the song upon audio release and in the cinema.
