I feel exactly the same way. I know Kun is gentle towards everyone, but ever since Kun says “if you feel stressed, it’s okay, I’ll bear the burden with you” (direct translation from Chinese), I can’t help but see so much more gentleness in Kun’s interactions with Xin. Kun seems to understand Xin a lot, from how he can spot XIN’s dance style in her teammates’ movements and thus accurately guessed that Xin was the one who taught them the moves to that last BTS where Kun understands XIN’s questions in a heartbeat (when Xin was asking Kun which way of expressing emotion in the performance he would choose given different options). Kun’s replies to Xin was also super gentle when he keeps emphasizing that it is subjective and that Xin should do whatever she feels best and most comfortable with. They seem to resonate on a different level altogether compared to Kun’s interactions with other trainees. I see genuine respect towards each other between them.

In ep16 Kun had this q&a session with the trainees and Xin wanted to ask a more personal question and he said she was scary hahaha! And also during the 2nd eliminations when Xin was giving her speech about her life journey, you could see Kun getting teary-eyed too, like he could really understand how tough it is for her. Really love the small interactions between the two!

I remember when Xin was in the lesson with Kun for "Miss You 3000", she called him 坤坤制作人, as in Producer KUN KUN like legit KUN KUN like a nickname I- 😂😭❤️

I think more than anything kun sees xin as an equal not just a mere trainee, he understands her motives on coming to the show, he sees himself in her and encourages her to improve her and shower her true self he also understands the burden she is carrying as both of them have high expectations to be successful

i know a lot of you guys don't ship these 2 but i really see a gentle connection between them. And even though xin always looks ok for me she looks depressed. And she always take care of others but no one will take care of her. so I really hope some one will do cause she been through a lot. And i hope that person will be kun cause if anything these 2 will understand each other more than anyone.

I really like the portion where Kun said that he'll be there for her. I really felt like the trainees saying 'awwww' or gushing because of his words. It was really sweet (friendship-wise or not, whichever is your view, it's sweet). Xinliu getting input from Kun is like how I get input from my friend when it comes to what I create. Even providing what they thought if they were the one creating the project I was making. Also, from the time Kun said he watched her dance videos, I already had something of a wonder on why. I think he has respect for her dancing skills, so it's why he watches them, but then when he said he'll be there for her. Okay, he said that on a recording, so it shouldn't mean that much, should it? So, i brushed it off, since I swore I would not ship any idol or actors in real life. Yet, there was that time Xinliu got covered with another trainees long hair and Kun saw it even if she was at the far corner from where he stood. Then, I find this video, why are your eyes so sharp to catch those small details?! I swear, fans are great detectives when they want to be.

I've been binge-watching YWY clips and your vid appeared on my rec. Tbh, I've never expected to see this ship lol! I thought from the audition that there was more of a professional respect between them, until I saw another vid with the miss you 3000 practice and yu yan's hair scenes. And when the QnA segment was posted that pretty much sealed the deal for the shippers. Just watching this again reminds me of the dream I had last night My dream was kun asked xin on a date she agreed and they went to a cafe. Xin was feeding kun a salad and kun was feeding xin some beef of some sort. After that I had another dream that on the very last episode of ywy kun directly said to xin “baby I love you". Then another weird dream was they were in a hot pot restaurant (no one knew they were dating) and some fan found kun and xin together and took a video kun looked over and wasn't really shocked (the fan didn't know the person he was sitting with was a girl and xin was looking the other way from the fan) then he smiled to the fan xin asked “why are you smirking?" She turned around and found out there was a fan taking a vid of them she was shocked and with a speed of lightning the turned her head back (she doesn't know the fan was filming and was not that worried cause they won't be able to take a photo. The fan left so did kun and xin they were holding hand while putting on their disguise (they weren't putting on the disguise that time cause the were eating). They went home safely and boom kun and xins weibo just blew up they looked at weibo and found the vid of them they were scared and finally at the variety show that kun was in he then revealed that they were dating and he asked her right before the last episode airs a few years later they both went famous and decided to get married they had one son and the end P.S that was one heck of a dream I say and the most funnest if I can I would just play that again and again in my dreams 😭😅😆😄

But honestly everyone can see how gentle they are with each other, people just choose to either ignored it or keep it in. I have the same view as you. Yuxin always take care of other but not herself. I want someone to care for her and make sure that she's okay. My angel has been through a lot. N for this, I think xukun fits the role very well. The way that he support her in such a gentle and caring way is definitely helping her to heal and improve herself.
