Located about 18 kms from the main city of Kundapura, Maravanthe Beach, located in Maravanthe village, is one of the most beautiful beaches in Karnataka. It is one of its kind travel getaway in India, that will surely amaze you.
Souparnika River which is another beautiful spot to visit and explore. The river flows down from near the Mookambika temple at Kollur in the Western Ghats, hence it is also known as the Kolluru River
Just opposite to Maravanthe beach is the recently constructed Maravanthe Padukone bridge. Using this bridge, you can visit to the village of Padukone, birth place of popular badminton star Prakash Padukone and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.
A little distance away and adjoining to Maravanthe Beach is the Trasi Beach. This beach is another tourist destination surrounded by super calming views, fresh air, and nature in abundance.
There are multiple places to stay on the highway or alternatively at the nearby town, Kundapura.
One such place of stay right opposite to Maravanthe beach is the Sai Kushi Beach Resort. Room are quite basic. You get all basic facilities along with air conditioner, Hot water geyser and not to mention that balconies open to excellent view of Maravanthe beach. Room rates are also quite reasonable.
For vegetarians, the south-Indian dishes available here are mouth-watering. Every visitor's taste buds are sure to be immensely pleased with the taste of these regional dishes.
I would like to introduce you to three good restaurants at Kundapura which is just about 20 minutes drive from Sai Kushi Resort.
The first one in the list is the Harsha Refreshments located at the Hotel Sharon complex.
You get the best quality and tasty food here. My personal favourite at this restaurant is Mangalore Buns and Hesaru Avalakki for breakfast.
Also, this restaurant is one stop solution for lunch, evening snacks & dinner.
Next on the list is Parijatha Restaurant. You can try this restaurant for breakfast.
However, inconvenient point at this restaurant is that they only accept cash transactions. Credit card or digital payments is not accepted. So please plan accordingly.
For your lunch requirements, Shetty Lunch Home. Here both vegetarian and non vegetarian options are available.
Reach early for lunch to avoid rush and long waiting time. Also, food rates are quite upmarket at Shetty Lunch Home.
Overall, Kundapura is great place for nature lovers with its pristine expanse of white sand and tranquil shores. The beach is an enchanting destination to relax on your days away from work!

Maravanthe is about 420 kms from state capital Bengaluru and about 105 kms from Mangaluru (Nearest airport). Kundapura railway station (20 kms) is the nearest railway connection to Maravanthe.
By Train: Kundapura is the closest train station to Maravanthe which is about 20 kms away via Karwar Express.
Local trains stop at other railway stations close to Maravanthe namely, Senapura Station about 8.4 kms away and Bijoor Railway station which is approximately 13 kms away.
Express trains do not stop at these stations, although close by to Maravanthe.
By Road:
Taxis can be availed from Kundapura town to Maravanthe Beach which is almost 23 kms by road via NH 66.
By Air: The nearest airport by air is Mangalore International Airport to Maravanthe Beach.
