Lingambudhi Botanical Garden in Mysore, Mysore Botanical Garden, Mysuru Lingambudhi Park. Lingambudhi Botanical Garden is spread over 15 acre area and situated just a short drive from the Mysore Palace.
Lingambudhi Botanical Garden was floated along the lines of Lalbagh Botanical Garden at Bangalore and famed Ooty’s Botanical Garden.
Garden's main attraction is its diverse flora and fauna. It's home to a rich collection of plants, trees, and a variety of wildlife that make this place truly special.
Rose garden at the entrance welcome visitors. There are more than 80 varieties of roses that display different colours and shapes. The beauty is enhanced by miniature roses, standard roses and hybrid roses.
There are over 300 plant varieties including medicinal plants. From the charming Rose Garden to the serene Lotus Pond, every corner of Lingambudhi Botanical Garden offers something unique. You'll find exotic and indigenous plant species that create a vibrant and tranquil atmosphere.
One of my favourite things about this garden is the towering trees that provide ample shade and make it a perfect escape from the Mysore sun. The giant banyans, the whispering casuarina groves, and the beautiful avenues will leave you in awe.
Also, one can see here that a lot of space has been provided for the conservation of endangered tree species. Over 30 varieties of medicinal and aromatic plant species are planted on one acre land.
This is the ideal place to have a picnic, relax, or simply unwind under the shade of these magnificent trees.
If you're a nature enthusiast, you'll be thrilled to know that Lingambudhi Botanical Garden is also home to a lovely Butterflies. It's a magical place where you can watch these delicate creatures in their natural habitat. Over 34 varieties of flowering plants have been planted that butterflies love to feed on and lay eggs.
You can even try your hand at identifying the different species of butterflies here. It's a wonderful educational experience for kids and adults alike.
