You won't be disappointed! The only thing to consider is making sure your electric lift cable doesn't get caught under your mower when you're towing becomes articulated. I've gone through cables so far..I usually set the height for my mowing, then disconnect the cable to keep it from getting sliced in half.

Glad you enjoyed the video and had a similar experience with your finish cut mower. I managed to knock out about 60 acres that day and the land is really starting to come into focus. About the only gotcha was that shortly after the video was shot, I managed to get a portion of the hydraulic lift power cable under the deck while mowing, cutting a section to pieces, effectively preventing the deck from lifting. I'm sorting out a replacement cable as we speak, but just something to be aware of!

Definitely. The only change I've had to make is to replace the pneumatic tires with the solid core ones to eliminate flats (which I'm recommending everyone do to save doing it later). Other than that, it's been a great piece of equipment.

Yeah. I have every intention of getting a tractor and a shredder at some point, but until I can build out there, I don't want to leave equipment outside in the elements. In any event, I've been able to cut around 65 acres with just the tow behind mower and my RTV.

@@ExpeditionOverlanding that's pretty impressive and you got a lot of patience. I about went mental trying to cut my field with a 6' bush hog. Trying to keep a manicured look around pond so looking at alternatives other than a bat wing mower

@jasscarborough Yeah. Using a tractor and a bat wing limits your speeds to ~6mph. With the tow behind, I can get up to around 11mph cutting speeds with my RTV.

@@ExpeditionOverlanding so I was considering getting a rough cut mower like the golf course uses . Cut deck 15' wide but I haven't really seen many people use that for my application. Any thoughts on that ? The pull behind mower would be used to hit pond edges and not worry another getting stuck with my four wheeler

@@jasscarborough Kunz sells both a rough cut (which I have) and a fine cut tow behind. Is this what you were considering?

There's two challenges I have with a tractor: 1. I have nowhere to store it on the property and I don't want it just sitting out in the elements. 2. Most tractors operate between 6-8mph when using implements. I can run up to 15mph with the RTV when mowing, cutting the time needed significantly. The only downside, as you pointed out, is putting so many hours on the RTV vs a tractor.

Roughly a full day, so about 9-10 hours.
