Kurt's autobiography he explains about him not cutting weight, he never believed in cutting weight. His coaches all wanted him to cut. But he had self-belief that he was faster and had better stamina not cutting. Internationally he faced mostly 240 pound studs cutting down to 220, Kurt was facing them under 210. He felt faster better stamina at the lighter weight, would wear down his bigger stronger opponents. He had to push back hard against HS and college coach at first so they would allow him to wrestle without cutting weight. They saw how successful he was in matches not cutting and and let him continue not cutting

Thanks, I really did always wonder about that. As a guy who’d cut 30-40 lbs I can honestly say I was less focused, weaker, slower, and even my stamina suffered! I wish there was a big push to at least see the kids in HS have some form of monitoring based from pre season or dietary standards. But something to establish a healthy standard in weight reduction limits, to still developing kids in the sport!!

I broke my neck in two places and my back in seven (I broke other bones too and had internal injuries too but it doesn’t pertain here haha) in a car accident. I’m fused from C2 to C7 and T9 to L3. I have horrible chronic pain and have been in pain killers for the past 15 years just to try and live. I recently had a pain pump installed for the constant back pain. I feel like a new person. I’ve had one perc 10 in the past 3 days. I feel like I have hope for the first time in over a decade. So if you’re pain never goes away and oral pain meds can no longer manage your pain very well know that the pump exists and you can have your life back. God bless both of you and I hope your pain doesn’t become chronic and you both can recover and have a great life. Just know there is hope if your pain follows my path.

Kurt Angle is probably the most under rated athlete in Western sports history. If MMA had been around at the time like it is now, I genuinely believe he would have put Brock Lesnars CV to shame. Alas, there's not much else after college and Olympic wrestling where the elite get paid elite money so WWF was the obvious choice. A great career. Hall of famer easy. It's just a sad shame he went through all that pain to provide for his family, and the pain killers he took to get through it probably cost him the family he literally put his neck on the line for every night. I hope he has genuine peace in his retirement and he finally gets to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Mr Angle, if by any chance you ever read this, I hope your happy and healthy. Oh it's true! It's DAMN true!! 👍
