Everyone seems friendly and respectful on this Thai island. Surprised at your reaction to the food. You are first person I have seen that is disgruntled with Thai cuisine.

Kurt, you must not be eating at the right places because Thai food is delicious. The southern part of Thailand is definitely not as good as the north, but you can still find good dishes. Try Pad Kra Pao! It's minced pork with fried basil and chili. Delicious!

Yet one more unique video from Kurt - quite different from what I expected to see and that is precisely what keeps his videos awesome. Quite authentic. I personally enjoyed the food in Thailand - grilled fresh seafood, curries, tom yum soup, thai fried rice, noodles, etc. Looking forward to being back again! And kudos to Kurt for keeping fit while still eating just about anything he desires!

I recently joined muay Thai. Best thing I've done for myself in a long time. Great stuff Kurt that was really cool to watch you train. It really explains your bravery and confidence when everyone tells you not to go in them favelas, and you still go.😂

Food is good you just haven't ordered the right things. Try Thai Green curry (Gaeng khiao wan) or massaman curry with chicken (Gaeng Massaman Gai) since you've on the islands now. Also would recommend "Kao Pad Kra Pao" if you can handle chillies. Another dish worth trying is Tom Kha Kai, if you want a nice creamy soup.

Follower from UK here. I am now in Phi Phi for a week should come visit 😀. You was saying about the food and can agree a bit with you, a lot of the restaurants make the food more for the Western eating. I managed to make friends with a Thai guide when staying at the lake houses on Ratchaprapha. On last day we spent the whole day with him and visited many places foreigners wouldn’t go. One was a Thai restaurant which was completely Thai style and it was amazing. It is possible to find some good restaurants but keep of the beaten track a bit and there are gems out there. Keep up the good videos.

I don't know what it's like in Samui but in Chiang Mai there's plenty of meat, roasted pork, chicken, kebab things, sausage. It's everywhere you look.

Training muay Thai in Thailand is the best. I spend 3 months at tiger muay thai and I was so fit and ripped. I am heading to Koh samui soon. Keep up the training!

Started k1 and muaythai when I was around 15 almost a decade now and ever since then I’ve dreamed about living and training in Thailand. Honestly surprised on how good your technique is, I wasn’t expecting that at all. looking very fluid, clearly training a while.

@Kurt Kaz Since you like to try the local herbs . You should ask around for a leaf called Kratom or maybe Called Kratum tree there.. It's popular in the states. Basically it has opiod properties but doesn't mess with your breathing. I think it is technically considered illegal there but Vice News did an episode and people still use it. It be good to take after a hard day of training for a second wind or to relax and help with pain. Workers use it to help them with energy to do manual labor jobs.

Thai food is amazing. I’d recommended not just eating street food all the time and going into Thai restaurants. By the looks of it you’re just eating soups, try a Penang curry and ask for it spicy.

Some Thai food, like the Noodle bowl, you have to add fish oil, chili pepper, sugar, etc for your own taste, same with some of the other dishes. I prefer those dishes so I can make it as spicey as I want it and not burn the hell out of the mouth spicey as it is normally made. I've been in Jomtien Thailand for 3 months and mix it up for food, Western food (lots of good Italian food here) and Thai food. Never had to eat at KFC or McDonalds, can always find a good steak, pork chop, pizza, Burger etc. Try Pad Thai, Pad See Ew,, most westerners like those.

As a Thai person I must say that the best Thai food is homemade. When we’re eating outside it’s either a hit or miss. Not every restaurant or street food vendor makes good food. The best food is the one you cook at home by yourself 😋

Kurt, you should go also to Koh Phangan, you will love it: good mix of locals and tourists, great nature, hiking possibilities and amazing food. Will go there back soonish and this video remind me of my days there. All the best 👌🏽

Thai food is definitely some of the best in the world. Unfortunately, if you're on an island, your options are somewhat limited. Most street vendors don't add much meat to their dishes, which will leave you feeling unsatisfied and hungry a couple hours later after training. I usually eat 4-5 times a day since the portions are generally smaller and healthier compared to that in the west.

I have to agree with the Tourist Thai food! Living on and off in Thailand the past 25 years it’s the same dish in every restaurant you go to. There is real Thai food there to, no where near the tourist trail and good luck on you if you can stomach it!

Honestly I'm not really a fan of the new format for Kurts vids. Now he has someone else filming him and its all about him and not the places he traveling. It's like a 20 min selfie video. His old vids were all about the place and his experience with the culture and people.. now he's just made it all about himself and comes across as a bit egotistical.

There’s a place on the way out of lamai towards chaweng called Imchai, the food there is great, the chef used to work in Germany. Also you can get quite good protein at the nightly markets near cafe Madrid. Enjoy

Man Thai food is fantastic! The flavours are great, you just need to eat the right stuff. I've left some recommendations for you. Try: You'll find BBQ chicken stands - these are the fucking best (you'll get like a huge breast bit and leg for 40 baht and it's delicious), get this with sticky rice Thai fried chicken and sticky rice Mango sticky rice Pad Grapao Chicken, but beef is best Masaman curry Thai green curry (ofc) Khao Soi Tom Yum Chicken (because I also hate fish) Boat noodle soup (beef) Grilled pork neck skewers Any meat skewer

Wtf, Coconut so much expensive, The more countryside should not be this expensive. Usually the price is 15-30 baht. That's all. Plus the most expensive 60 baht is more than enough. This is 130 like selling in a 5 star hotel. very expensive, never seen Roty(pancakes) expensive too.
