@@charlesrae3793 the giver of lung becomes your guru so, once you get the initiation/transmissions, it's highly advised that you give something in return, such as fruits, gifts to the guru as an offering for the transmission. I also believe that getting the lung from the highest practitioner such as the tulkus and Rinpoches are advised. There are rituals for the transmission as well so us being physically present is the norm. The real tulkus and Rinpoches generally don't give the lung to everybody just like that, because people won't respect the transmission majority of the cases, as a result, they have to bear the brunt of it.
