The bags also have another zipper on the out perimeter that when opens each bag expand another 7 liters. 26 to 32 liters.

Good discussion and explanation of the Kuryakyn Momentum Saddlebags. Your video will be a lot of help to other motorcyclists.

Locally, a set of these Kuryakyn Momentum Outrider Saddlebags appeared on Facebook Market Place for only $100. So, I bought the set as they were like new. They are a good quality bags with lots of pockets. I looked up the reviews and the zippers over the top of the seat become undone. I don't have that problem because I use the 6 provided straps - 2 over the top to pinch the bags against the seat to stop the tension on the zippers, 2 rearward back to the back rack holding that back of the bags against the seat also, and the final 2 headed forward/down to the passenger pegs. The secret is the 2 straps over the top of the Velcro/zips. The bags don't wiggle, move or shake in any way. They are solid and stable.

I will have to try that strapping method 👍

Just a out of the box idea. Is there a room under for the back seat so you could remove the back seat. Install across the fender top and reinstall the back seat? Like I did on my Guzzi. It traps them and does not shift around. I'm not a Harley guy
@canadiansa1nt309 Жыл бұрын
There is. You could definitely put it under the seat. I didn’t go that way because I’m ocd that the fender would get scratched. Also, the bags sit higher away from the pipes when over the passenger seat.

I have a taous71 FLFB/FXBR 20inch Sissybar on my 2018 Fat Boy. It's Chinese made, but it's a higher end product with similar build quality to harley's OEM stuff. I actually liked it enough that I bought 2 of them. One I have my old HD sissybar luggage rack bolted and sugru bonded to it, and then the other without anything on it, just the sissybar pad removed, just for style. I highly suggest it. I found it on Ebay.

Ok. I’ll see how the saddlebags work out first.

Nice bike, Nice bags! Question: Where did you get the license relocation bracket? I've looked everywhere, and the one you have is the nicest looking one. Thanks!
@canadiansa1nt3092 жыл бұрын
I did not have to relocate the bracket. I believe in Canada they have to be located there by manufacturing standards. So no relocation needed. It came standard. That being said, Harley must make one. 👍

I put them under my seat but also installed some saddle bag brackets under them with zip ties.
@canadiansa1nt3092 жыл бұрын
That would make sense. How close do they sit to the pipes? Or do the brackets keep them far enough away?
@cjhartnett82332 жыл бұрын
@@canadiansa1nt309 couple inches above with no problems. Just overlapped the saddle straps close together. I updated my profile pic with the bags.

@@cjhartnett8233 Looks good. I just finally got mine out on the highway to see how they handle. They seem to work pretty good.

How do you think they would work for someone like me, I don’t have a back seat I have a chrome rack? Your opinion?
@canadiansa1nt3096 күн бұрын
I imagine they should still work.

Nice bags, had you considered a tall sissy bar and duffle bag? I think the one Kustoms make would look wonderful on your bike. R9 Kustoms sissy bar duffle bag they call it
@canadiansa1nt3092 жыл бұрын
I looked at a lot of sissy bars, mostly taller ones. I just could not find one I liked in my price range.

Add more beer to keep the bags from blowing around in the wind

I saw your other video where you reviewed it after taking it on a ride. How did the throw over part on the seat treat the seat? Did it leave any marks or anything?
@canadiansa1nt3092 жыл бұрын
I did not have any issues with the seat. It still looks the same today as when I bought it.
@drsparwaga2 жыл бұрын
@@canadiansa1nt309 I am wondering how it will be over the longterm. The thing is the weight in theory will press down onto the seat, potentially leaving pressure marks behind. Would require a longer term review with frequent use. I was planning to use a folded towel to separate the seat and the throw over part. Like you, I am a bit OCD about any potential damage, especially since I have a Saddlemen seat (which aren’t cheap).
@canadiansa1nt3092 жыл бұрын
@@drsparwaga I can understand that. I generally use the bags sparingly.
@drsparwaga2 жыл бұрын
@@canadiansa1nt309 I won’t be using them regularly either. Just on my tours and whatever small trips that require them. But I’ll probably still put a towel there to be safe. Could be that the seat will eventually get pressure marks if it’s done even casually over time. Do they fit easily on your Sportster by the way?
@canadiansa1nt3092 жыл бұрын
@@drsparwaga to be honest, I have not tried them on the Sportster. It has a small solo seat and chopped fender. I only use that bike as more of a “bar hopper”. If I had to use them though, they look like they would fit in a pinch.
