This ain't a new franchise it's just a new name and new identity this franchise is 52 years old it started in Winnipeg in the World Hockey Association 1972-1979 and then merged into the NHL from 1979- present WHA Winnipeg Jets 1972-1979 NHL Winnipeg Jets 1979-1996 Phoenix-Arizona Coyotes 1996-2024 Utah ??? 2024-

@@PhilipSpence-ud4pp The Coyotes aren't being moved, just the players and assets. The Coyotes franchise will remain with AZ, the history and name. It'll get revived at some point in the future. In other words, this is more like an expansion NHL team. It's never been done like this before.

@@MrHunterbgwhy you blaming Utah?😂 the coyotes dogshit owner kept the rights to the name and logo while just selling the players and staff. So the history is still there for the team and franchise. And they can still be the Arizona coyotes if they can build an arena within the next 5 years. All of this is because of Meruelo, he doesn’t know how to run or operate an NHL team. And Utah just so Happened to be in the market for a new sports team. So again, don’t blame Utah for something the owner is 100% at fault for.

As a Kraken fan living in SLC THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN TO ATTEND. As a 12 I understand the loud crowd and by the time I left Delta Center I had no voice. Definitely a hockey city and state. GO BLIZZARDS!!

I remember in the early 70s the salt lake golden eagles filled the salt palace to cheer on that team to a CHL championship! Now it's so emotional to see the NHL coming to Utah. I hope to be able to get there And feel the energy!!!!

The confusion is that this is the Coyotes franchise, but it's never been done like this before. This is essentially an expansion team but with the players and assets of the Coyotes. The history and name remain with AZ.

Ok utah.... hockey is a game played on ice.. there are 3 periods of 20 minutes each. There are 5 players plus a goalie per side. You score a goal by putting a black rubber object called a puck into the net with a stick. Hope that helps
