/ mintvolcano - Kwaidan is a Japanese Horror fantasy film masterpiece directed by Masaki Kobayashi in 1964. It was filmed on a giant sound stage and has a theatrical surreal vibe that has possibly never been replicated in cinema. It is obvious that alot of thought and passion was put into every detail of this classic film, and yet some people will surely find this film to be a bit boring or a bit of a challenge to sit through. In this movie review I discuss my thoughts on how to watch classic films such as these that may feel dated to our modern sense of taste. This film is considered one of the best Japanese films ever made and it's influence can be found in many places in cinema, so Kwaidan is definitely worth a watch if you are a lover of horror or films in general.
The Mint Volcano channel will be uploading more review of Taiwanese cinema, films, movies, Netflix shows as well as reviews of films from other Asian countries such as Hong Kong, China, Japan and more. The purpose of this channel is for media criticism and appreciation of cinema and Taiwanese cinema in particular. We hope people from all over the world will seek out these movies and share them with their friends.
