**NOTE: This is a repost of a previous NETCONF video, and it corrects a couple of issues.
One of the new topics appearing on Cisco's new Enterprise certification track (e.g. the ENCOR (350-401) exam) is NETCONF, which stands for NETwork CONFiguration. NETCONF gives us a way to configure network devices using programs, as opposed to configuring everything from the CLI.
This video begins with the theory of NETCONF, followed by a review of YANG Data Modeling, and wraps up with a live demonstration of NETCONF.

Excellent content again. The YANG before and after XML data structures at around 7 to 8mins is very informative and much easier to digest

Thanks for the tuto! I work on O-RAN radio which use netconf, thanks for the pointer to Cisco Devnet and Github repo, as a developer nothing better than to look at sample codes 8-)

I have a couple years automation experience from my previous role at Facebook but it’s nice to build upon my own foundation. I am way more savy on the Junos platform these days but it all started with Cisco.

I followed the example, but it always return an empty rpc. Either there is a bug in that py script, or there's something wrong with that sandbox dvc.

I still dont understand the need for restconf or netconf! I manage 81 L2/L3 switches daily and can breeze thru any and multiple configs dynamically via the cli. Someone make this make sense? Whats its purpose? I dont see it!
