Welcome to Ky-lee's Collection: Fueling the Passion for Muscle Cars Interview.
Today we are catching with Ky-lee to check out her Classic Car Collection, which is a HJ Holden Monaro GTS and ZD Ford Fairlane 500 and these vehicles are lovely.
Ky-lee was chasing a hobby now the kids were getting older and her passion for muscle cars never went away, so so decided to get the HJ Holden Monaro first and the shortly after that, Ky-lee brought the ZD Ford Fairlane. The kids and her get out every weekend they can cruising in these cars.
When Ky-Lee first got the HJ Holden Monaro GTS, it was pretty much as it is now cosmetically but she need to re-chrome the bumpers, recarpet the interior but she had to update the engine. The first day she brought the HJ the Engine broke down and after she never really trusted it. Ky-lee rebuilt the engine the way she wanted it, with power. The HJ Holden is an original Monaro GTS with a Premier Front End but its not the original engine. The HJ has GTS rims with Red Walled Tyres as well.
The HJ Holden is running a 355 Stroker with Yella Terra Roller Rocker, Mild Cam, Pacemaker Extractors and 2.5" exhaust system, but Ky-lee has plans to add a heavy cam soon. The Engine is back by a Turbo 400 with shift kit and still running the original diff. This Engine sounds perfect, but she still has a few items to touch up in the engine bay area.
Now Ky-lee's ZD Ford Fairlane 500 is original numbers matching vehicle and she chased this vehicle down until it was hers. The Fairlane was located in QLD and Ky-Lee brought the car sight unseen. However, it paid off because the car only needed a few minor repairs to get it over the pits in Western Australia. Ky-Lee has always want a big Cruising Vehicle and the Fairlane fits that well, plus an Australian Cars are a must.
The ZD Ford Fairlane is running the original 302 Windsor Engine with C4 Gearbox and Borg Warner Standard diff. The Engine looks as it would have coming out of the factory. Ky-lee would love to do some respraying of the Fairlane and other minor touch ups, but there is no rush. This Cruiser puts a smile of face just talking about it.

Great to see a Holden / Ford combo in one household. Kylie has done well on those 2 for sure, she should be proud. The ZD is my fave as i had one on my P's , refurbed it after buying it from dad, father son project, very similar looking to Kylie's. Thanks guys for a great effort.

hi , needs a thermostat housing to water pump by pass hose . This bleeds air and allows flow when thermostat closed . Strictly a Monaro GTS is based from on a Kingswood basic model not a luxury Premier or Luxury Sport or Limited Edition or Statesman . The twin headlight front is only on these models , it was not optional on GTS FYI So well done for the vehicle and enjoy it . Keep customising .
