Rev match ka matlab hota hain speed aur rpm ka matching for a specific gear. Actually low gears high gears k muqable zada rpm mangta hai for a given speed. Suppose 50 kmph speed k liye agar 5th gear 1k rpm use kar raha h toh 4th gear 50 kmph speed k liye 1.5k rpm use karega so bina rpm match karke ya bina speed match kiye agar downshift karoge toh gari jhatka degi. So agar 50 kmph speed m aap 5th se 4th gear m ana chahte ho toh pehle aapko rpm increase karna h clutch daba k from 1k to 1.5k then change gear phir rev match ho jayga aur car jhatka nhi degi. Basically 2 types of downshifts hota hai 1) speed matching technique i.e if you don't want to maintain same speed then simply use break to slow speed and match with the lowgear then downshift. 2) rpm matching technique i.e if you want to maintain same speed then increase the rpm by blipping the accelerator using clutch to match the rpm with the low gear and then downshift.
