Reminds me of another former Fighting Irish Safety in Harrison Smith. Bad 40 times but can really put in the work with pads on close to the line of scrimmage or off the ball in deep coverage. 💯👌

He ran that slow forty mostly because of lack of technique as opposed to being slow. He didn't run a straight line , he was swaying side to side which does take off from your 40. I still think at his pro day, he will run much faster

For all of you making a big deal about a SAFETY 40 time y’all are sad individuals. 40 times are specific for certain positions. There’s a reason he plays safety and not corner. He isn’t a corner that need stop speed to keep up with wrs or a linebacker that needs to cover routes in the short middle with these hybrid athletes or pass rushers who need to get to the QB as fast as possible l. Safeties have to be the last resort and also the have to be the playmaker and watch the play develop

What is actually happening on the field shows that the 40 time doesn't matter as much as we think. A quick forty shows something, but a slow forty could mean lack of running a straight line.

Why did he run a 40 if you know ur a 4.6 guy? I would drop him out of the top 10 maybe first round. He goes from a do it all to an in the box safety with elite zone skills. Still very valuable, but still just a safety.

Everybody acting like he plays so much faster is strange. He's not a burner. He's a smooth glider. Has good speed once he gets going but his acceleration isn't great. He's a really good player but everybody saying he's the best player in the draft just shows how powerful media narratives can be. He's a first round talent for sure but not in the top 10 imo

He is not catching the ball at it's highest point. He is not striding out of his pivots. This points to being highly under coached and or pampered. Or he does not learn well. Other than that he looks great.
