12:13 - A citation in the military is a formal, honorable mention. So Thrawn was acknowledging the soldiers' sacrifice and putting a good mark in their record.

In most cases absolutely, but also if Thrawn knows his troops could be resurrected, it could still be a negative citation as he wrote the Tie fighters off not the troops. Every asset counts in this chess match

@@IR1SHwArLord21"Every asset counts in this chess match"... And since Thrawn found himself at risk of checkmate, he sacrificed his queen, Morgan Elsbeth. Such a move happens when a player voluntarily lets the opponent capture their queen. The player offering the queen sacrifice does so to try to gain an advantage like more material, a better position, a checkmate, or in Thrawn's case... more time.

Ezra mentioned how the Great Mothers were "awakened" by Thrawn - makes me absolutely certain that those aren't tombs, but stasis chambers, loaded with possibly hundreds of then-unconscious night sisters who had gone into slumber when the witch kingdom fell. Upon reaching Dathomir, they'll be reawakened, and a new generation of Dathomiri witches will arise.

Filoni making Star Wars his own via his collective works within Star Wars, which is why we have the Ahsoka series now.

These Death Troopers especially. First, they guarded Thrawn and the others and seemed disciplined and professional enough, so you wouldn't actually be able to tell if they were actually alive or not. Later, they hid behind those two pillars and engaged Ezra and Sabine once they've arrived, emerging from the pillars and giving off surprisingly accurate blaster bolts with their E11D's, considering that they were firing from the hip and walking. They even seemed rather okay at hand-to-hand combat. I'm not sure if they had some form of sentience, but I don't think they were "just" zombies. They were definitively smarter, more skilled, and overall just stronger and more dangerous than other zombies.

The inherent danger in recasting is many fans will look at the casting and go there is no way he can live up to it. And whether or not he does a good job to most of the pain ends up being for debate. A good example of this Joaquin Phoenix and Jared Leto who took the on the role of the Joker after Heath Ledger had portrayed him so incredibly in The Dark Knight. Yes there were things that people didn't like about his character design in Suicide Squad but I think that Leto made the Joker his own and he was sufficiently maniacal and scheming. And yet if you talk to the most casual fan they will say that Jared was a horrendous Joker and there's no way he lived up to Heath same thing with many people including myself who are not particularly fans of joaquin's portrayal

Man, Anakin, while not being so heavily present in the show, had so much impact on the story. Seeing him as a ghost watching Ahsoka and being proud at how far she'd come was a perfect ending to the season. Hayden was just so fucking good for the times he was present. Now I wonder if he has anything to do with a potential new Mortis gods arc.

I know it’s pretty far fetched but I actually think Baylan is being called by the mother, Abeloth… maybe. There has been so much with the mortis gods in this show so it could be about her. She is going to be able to escape her exile now that the the father has been long gone. So they could be hinting towards her. And if it is then we will probably see Luke fight her like they do in legends.

After the shot of Baylan in front of the statue of the father, when Sabine said she saw "shadows in the clouds" I fully expected two small grey stars lighting up to symbolize her eyes instead of Anakin. I definetly think something involving her will happen in S2, everything looks set up that way

My only slight problem with Sabine using the force isn't her grabbing the Lightsaber. It's Her Force pushing Ezra. That is a big jump from pulling a lightsaber toward you. But I'll let it slide and say that she was more focused in the moment and she is already a warrior with discipline.

11:50 You remember how Anakin told Ahsoka in "Shadow Warrior" that she is part of a legacy? Well... owed to Ahsoka being her Master, Sabine is definitely part of that very same legacy now, too, and it shows. That move is such an Anakin-thing to do. 13:23 Yeah... if i had to name it, i'd say we are definitely looking at a Master, a Knight and a Padawan here. 16:29 Agreed. Probably the quickest - and thus the most Ahsoka-like - we've seen Live-Action-Ahsoka fight in this show. Love it. It also helps, of course, that Elsbeth, played by Diana Lee Inosanto, does an excellent job, being a stuntwoman and martial-artist herself. Guess it also shows that she's Bruce Lee's goddaughter. 16:40 Literal Death Troopers... as if they weren't scare enough already while alive. That also answers the whole mistery from three episodes ago. Apparently, some of Thrawn's troopers were, in fact, already undead. 17:33 Honest to god, i am definitely NOT one of those fanboys, but i will admit, i could have done without Sabine ever developing full-on obvious Force-Powers. Considering what she pulled off here only a couple of minutes later is no small feat. I couldn't help but be hyped when she called her saber towards her, and i don't mind it too much, it doesn't really bother me persistently and it certainly won't mar my enjoyment of this show at all - and hey, in the end, Filoni created those characters, and i'm fine letting him do with them whatsoever he wants - but personally, i would have really prefered if she stayed at Chirrut-Imwe-levels of Force-abilities and having to make up for her shortcomings in the pure power department with her typical ingenuity, training and Mandalorian gimmicks. The Force should have been only boosting her reflexes and combat awareness, but no more than that, in my opinion. I mean, this show has repeatedly made a point of saying that a) you do not necessarily need the Force to be a Jedi, because, ideologically i guess, it's about more than that and b) Ahsoka didn't need Sabine to be a Jedi, she wanted her to be herself. That being said, and as i said before, it is what it is... minor criticism as something that goes against my personal ideas/preference, but nothing that spoils the show for me. 23:50 Might just be me, but since i'm a sucker for easy emotional bait, i definitely wanted Hera to run towards him and hug him after the whole "I'm home.". 25:00 There have been few things about SW in recent years that have given me as much joy as Hayden Christensen's glorious return to the franchise and the well deserved embrace by the fans that came along with it. Seeing him standing there as Anakin Skywalker, looking on with joy at his former Padawan continuing the legacy he entrusted her with is just heartwarming. 26:00 There seems to be something about Dathomir that is super special to the Nightsisters. Merrin mentions it often in her PoV-chapters in the Jedi Survivor-companion novel. Dathomir itself seems to strengthen their Magick, the "ichor that flows through the planet", as she calls it in the book and she also says that being away from Dathomir weakened her, to a degree, until she found a new source for her inner fire.

I think the caskets are actually stasis chambers because Ezra said that when they got to Peridea Thrawn woke up the Great Mothers. I think that the Great Mothers with their abilities to see probably long into the future, already knew Thrawn would come one day and had their entire civilization put to sleep until they could all escape to Dathomir on his ship. So serving him is the quickest way to get out of whatever apocalypse is gonna happen on Peridea and I imagine that it is very temporary since Nightsisters only loan out their services on their own terms and when it benefits them.

Baylan saw a gold flash in the distance… now…. Abeloth the one time servent to “The One” later wife, and mother was a human woman who basically fell in love and had the kids with the celestial. She got old and drunk from some fountain which in essence made her a corrupted Demi god. The One (Father) took the kids and fled to Mortis leaving Abeloth stranded. Both Jedi and Sith worked together in the old EU to put Abeloth down - they had to travel to the world between worlds to kill her. It wasn’t called world between worlds back then…. But the concept was the same. Abeloth had shinning gold hair. It’s also the rumoured power that old Sheev was looking for. Why did Dave leave us on this cliffhanger 😂❤

My crazy headcannon is that Merrick was an embodiment of the Son as a way to tie Sam Witwer into the roll for the new Starkiller, if Anakin is the new Father and Ahsoka is the Daughter, Vaders secret apprentice would be the Son, it would also justify his strong force abilities. Plus Merrick was just smoke so they could absolutely have him be a portion of the Son. Witwer justified the Son sounding like Starkiller because he’s inside every dark side user. It’s what I would do personally if we are revisiting Mortis
