In this video, watch Master Bladesmith, Kyle Royer, take you along as he makes the most challenging sheath he has ever made. Kyle has a passion for metalwork, it’s fun, leatherwork NOT so fun. Kyle absolutely loves knifemaking but sheath-making is not his favorite thing to do.
Kyle starts off making a mosaic damascus frog from pure nickel and 1084 which he will gun-blue, this is an experiment and something he wants to explore for his blades.
Next, follow along as he makes this curvaceous leather sheath fit his fighter to near perfection.

Kyle, I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is to hear you say that you aren’t a fan of leatherwork and yet to see your excellent results nevertheless. I, too, am not a huge fan of leatherworking and sometimes the relative lack of enjoyment worries me that I might be limited in my humanly possible results. Thanks to your honesty and incredible work ethic, I feel that I can take on leatherworking with considerably greater optimism

@@KyleRoyerKnives That's why Kyle is the master and I just watch! Hahaha ;D Five inches! That would look pretty silly! It would also tend to flop back and forth.
