im curious as to what destroyed your confidence for i was a teenager too and it did affect me as well but not so much. Did you believe them when they claimed everything was natural and did that give you a wrong view of what "natural beauty" is supposed to be or did you know they had work done and did you precieve that as something "young women need to strive towards"

If you look at Kylie Jenner’s before and after photos (when she was still a teenager to now) it’s INSANE. I get that people go through puberty but you don’t change your entire body shape that significantly (she naturally has a rectangle body shape). Also there are literal plastic surgeons who have done an analysis on how her face has changed through time and they’ve each said she’s gotten so much done. All the Kardashians have. I wish they’d stop the lies, it’s so harmful to young women and their body image

The only problematic thing with surgery is that after you've done something drastic like a nose job or an eye lift, when their kids grow up they'll more than likely think "Why don't I look like my Mom/Dad?" It leads down to a path of insecurity. Especially when your parents ARE KNOWN for being attractive by social standards, they would most likely try to replicate it in some way.

i’ve thought about this before! and it always makes me think about kylie’s daughter… when stormi grows up, what will she look like? because one things for sure: she’s not gonna look anything like kylie! stormi’s already a very beautiful little girl. so then most likely, she’ll still be beautiful when she’s older! and she’ll probably fit the beauty standard too. although i can’t help but wonder how different the beauty standard will be 20+ years from now? moreover, how different will the future beauty standard be for stormi, compared to the past beauty standard that her own mother helped to create? because even if older stormi is seen as “conventionally attractive” by the media, will she feel insecure or bad about herself when she’s 20 years old, and looks nothing like kylie when she was 20 years old? will stormi get kylie’s naturally thin lips? (nothing wrong with thin lips!) and feel “ugly” because of that? will she feel pressured to get lip filler like kylie? i guess only time will tell…

I'm not saying getting work done is harmful, but getting it done, swearing up and down it's natural and denying everything while ALSO simultaneously editing photos on top of that with the same response. That's the problem here. If they were just honest when asked about it then it would be no issue but considering all these girls have participated in modeling, fashion deals, and some even in those dumbass weightloss teas, I don't think its a 'you problem' kind of thing.

Not giving Kylie a pass, but with her comment about how "others can instill insecurities into you," I can't help but wonder how hard it must've been being Kim's little sister and growing up on tv at the same time. I find it hard to believe that Kim, with aaaaaall HER surgeries and their mom Kris (who's also had a ton of surgeries, and didn't she tell Khloe to get a nose job or made some kind of comments about her nose? God only knows what she also said to the younger 2..) being hyper critical, that those 2 in particular didn't push some insecurities onto Kylie. She was literally raised with the insecurities. It's a shame she didn't have this brilliant "epiphany" years ago. Might've done her some real good and stopped things before they started.

You have a point 6:38 we can use our critical thinking skills to know that social media images aren't real and they're most likely edited or photoshopped. However, I will say that unfollowing those people or spending less time on the app will improve your mental health. Consuming that content can lead to an increased risk of body dissatisfaction and drive for thinness. Logging out is the best thing to do.

okay the only part i don’t agree with is saying kylie doesn’t actually feel bad because of stormie. kylie being the youngest when her sisters were at the peak of their fame for sure made her question how she looked. the internet also made fun of how she looked, which is normal to happen even for celebs. Spilly, you are fortunate enough to have a following a hide your face. she didn’t get that option. i do believe her becoming a mom changed her perspective on plastic surgery. sure they’re backtracking, but everyone has to learn the lessons they’re given at their own pace. don’t support her if you don’t want to. don’t take celebs seriously. but that family is for sure still human and they were born into wealth. they don’t know any other life but that. give them a break tbh.

Can we please have more conversations about not following pages that make you insecure? About the control you have over your own social media account? I don't understand. It's social media. If you see a page made you uneasy, block it. No one is forcing you to see it. I understand that they need to be honest about the work they've done but people really love to put blame on others about their social media related anxiety. Chronically online truly is a disease 💀

I was thinking the exact same thing! Like i don’t understand how it’s someone else’s fault that a person looks at them and starts feeling insecure/feeling like they need to look like them. Now for little girls (who shouldn’t even be on social media) teenagers and maybe young adults, I can kind give them a pass since they are still learning. But let’s stop putting blame on others for being insecure. I agree too that people should be honest about having work. What they need to speak about is the racism of the body modifications. There are Black and Latina woman DYING getting BBL surgeries because of what they’ve done to look more racially ambiguous and appropriate Black and Latina women for the Black male gaze. She is somewhat at fault for making people feel that way. Someone who has had a ton of plastic surgery and edits the heck out of their photos coming out and acting like "they're all natural" creates a false and unrealistic beauty standard, when in reality Kylie (and the other Kardashians and Jenners) PAID to look like that and use a bunch of photoshop.

It's all about what they don't say for example "i don't get botox" can be technically true because you use the other brand dysport. I don't have plastic surgery "on my face" but shes had breast implants & a bbl on her body. "I haven't had surgery on my face" because you've had injectables. The Kardashian’s have contributed to skewed ideas of what beauty is in so many young people to the point I see posts like “what is this texture on my face?” “are my lips too small?” “how do I get rid of sun damage?” when they’re 21 with naturally beautiful skin that isn’t finished by a filter and lips that aren’t ballooned to hell and back by filler. The internet has us to where we’re all so used to seeing shopped photos of Kylie and now everybody is using faceapp. It’s ok to step out in the sun, it’s ok to age, to not look like everyone else, and it’s ok to have lines and texture, because we are human!!As an adult, I know this cause I was brought up before social media and everyone didn’t look the same, but it warps the minds of those who are much younger. This shit is scary and it’s enough now.

I do like the honesty as it shows she has grown from the 19 year old that wanted lip filler and PS. Its going to speak louder though of her show what she does moving forward to change the beauty standard. Is she and her sisters going to keep pushing this standard that only money can buy? Or is she going to represent loving yourself for who you are? Kim already got whatever she got taken out, but it wasn't to love herself, it was to change back to the stick thin Ozempic narrative. Only time will tell.

I love how they try to change the truth to their own narrative. I want people to stop saying she was 19 when she had her breast done because the correct answer is when she was 18. If you look at her own post from Halloween of 2017 when she was Christina Aguilera those were her real boobs but six months later she had a complete full chest so it definitely is 18 because by her 19th birthday she was already pregnant.

we all loved Khloe as she was one of the few 'real' ones we could relate to. and then....she succumbed to the haters. Its weird even looking at her now and most the time I dont recognize her in photos. When she turns sideways her big filled up upper lip sticks way out like Bart Simpson. then when she smiles her upper lip hangs down on one side....she paid all that money and its not even straight!
