I think this is the first of what Kylie went on to brand as an example of her “emotopop” sound … usually fast electronic beats with ethereal layered vocals and heartfelt intimate lyrics … of which you will soon find other examples popping up! Next week you are going to react to Giving You Up Video released at the end of March 2005. The last video before her breast cancer diagnosis just a month and a half later in May. After the Giving You Up video, there will be the "Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour" interrupted by the cancer diagnosis just before the australian leg of the tour... She looked beautiful but too fragile and skinny and not her usual. Many fans /including me/ wondered why is she doing these diets to lose so much weight. some really thought there is something wrong going on... But noone really knew what was going to happen just a few weeks later. Then her diagnosis, treatment, mastectomy and chemotherapy later in 2005/ early 2006 and then her return at the end of 2006 on the stage of the resumed and renamed "Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour". That tour had many dates in Australia and in the UK. The shows were sold out before her diagnosis and noone returned their tickets for a refund! The show style and choreography were heavily reworked to match her new way of not forcing and spending too much energy. It looked like a different show with new more comfortable costumes for her new frame... The concerts had a 20 min break so Kylie can rest, as her doctors advised... As she said in interviews her body changed during the chemotherapy, she gained a little weight, her body bloated. She also didn't want to stress it with unhealthy diets. So as she said she learned to love her new body and how to live with it. So her next video after Giving You Up was 2 and a half years later, at the end of 2007 for first post cancer album "X".
