The 2022 Aussie Grand Prix broke F1's record for the biggest ever crowd. There was plenty to see in the picturesque paddock, on the unique Melbourne Walk and out on track and I saw it all from the huge crowds, Maclaren's improved performance and the Ferrari celebration of Leclerc's win. Let me tell you more in this 10min video. I was at the race yesterday. Believe it or not, the photo of Lewis pointing in the thumbnail is actually when my cousin showed him a British race helmet when he passes by in the Cobra around Stewart grand stand. Out of 300-400 fans in the crowd, this one kid was the standout out of everyone!!! He’ll never forget that moment in his life now and the smile he still has is adorable!!

As a father of three boys, all in their 40’s, it means a lot to see you involving your son. Photography can open so many doors and met so many people. Looking forward to the next race.

Replica AC Cobras, there’s a bunch of them in Cape Town for tourists to drive around. Best way to see the city in my opinion.

Really? What engine do they have in those? Just wondering because those cars, like the original are known to be hard drive fast. Short wheel base makes them spin, I'm thinking letting tourists run loose with them isn't the best idea?

@@crp9985 it won’t ba a convincing replica without a monstrous sounding V8 coming out those side exhausts. To your point , I hardly see people pushing them, they look like they have questionable handling.

Oh no Kym!! Your birth city Adelaide was biggest! 1995 final GP had over 500k for the four days and over 200k for the final Sunday! Melbourne is still second to Melbs!! 🏁🏁

I’ve spectated and watched GP’s for 30yrs but since subscribing to your channel I find I’m trying to spot you in the background, this weekend I was successful in spotting you and your son in the paddock behind Christian Horner who was being interviewed by Sky F1, it did look like you were having a bit of trouble with your camera though, I hope all’s good and keep up the great work 👍🏻

Thanks for this vid Kym Illman. During the race do you or any of the other photographers play the race commentary audio feed into a pair of earbuds so that you can keep track what's going on during the race? I was surprised when Jace said @9:23 he didn't know what was going on in the race. BTW I love your intro...I think it's cool that its synched to the music.

I was there and saw Kym walking out of corners 3 and 4 with his son and tried to call out to him but the cars flew by at that time and he didn’t hear it 😂

Been at every single modern Albert Park race and last weekend was by far the best in terms of atmosphere. I loved every second of it even without the F-18's this year!

Was there for all 4 days as I am every year - Great event. Cant be any happier with a Ferrari win. Melbourne has been kind to Ferrari over the last few years. Managed to catch 3 wins in the last 4 events :)

Wasn't Adelaide 95 bigger its 3 day attendance was 426,000 and its 4 day attendance was 500,000.

Umm the Final Adelaide GP had around 250,000 people on its final day so I'm pretty sure once you add the first 3 days that would have been the biggest event.
