Charles Leclerc finally broke his Monaco curse when he crossed the checkered flag in first place at the 2024 Monaco GP! It was an extremely eventful sunday the Monaco F1 race, we saw a Monaco boat crash, a Monaco GP crash and a Charles Leclerc home race victory! No no no Kym. This race was pure poetry for Leclair! It would’ve been a grave in justice to have your young Aussie friend on the top step in Monaco this year. It was Charles time. After so many disappointments for so many years this one was a Disney fairytale ending. You’re young man has many years and many races ahead of him to prove his own dominance and I’m sure he will

"And we'll pay you _extra_ if you can get Martin Brundle to confuse you with someone else on TV." The race win clearly meant the world to Charles, but it seemed to me that even Prince Albert was getting emotional. It sure looked like he was holding back a tear or two!

That was a highlight. The entire Royal Family was clearly emotional, especially the younger ones in the second row, you can see that as the drivers came out. The Prince's willingness to show emotions and hug the drivers is so different from the the normal dignatories that award the trophies and let's not get started on the British Royals.

You sir, are a really fine FINE presenter of all that is Formula One along with your truly amazing well taken images - absolutely LOVE your site. You, along with Peter Windsor are the real deal . . . the rest are pretty well amateur charlatans profiting off of the popularity of F1 with their sensationalistic titled KZfaqs :-) THANK YOU for keeping your titles so well grounded! I've also had the good fortune of being involved in racing along with the huge privilege of meeting such likeable FIA luminaries as Prof.Syd Watkins and Race Director Charlie Whiting so I can easily separate out the B.S. banter that goes nowhere and is sometimes disrespectful to teams and people who make up the sport we all adore. I get no special privileges with teams and I very rarely do anything in terms of editing apart from applying one of my presets, and doing some cropping. I upload about 400 images a day so there is no time for anything fancy.

I am delighted for Charles. And, must say, Monaco is a stunning venue to race. The red Ferraris and yellow McLaren cars in the lead must have helped for some vintage photos. This race feels iconic already.

Great video, Kym. Lots of background info we don’t get here in the States. It’s a miracle all the wheels of Sergio’s car stayed inside the track. Also Anya Taylor-Joy was there and was very gracious with Martin on grid walk.

The race exposed the farcical heavy and big car design that is absolutely unsuitable for this track. It was the worst race for some time as far as spectators are concerned

So glad to hear that no one got seriously hurt in both the on-track and off-track crash. I hope the Italian photographer will recover quickly from which ever injury he has. And the people walking there when the boat came crashing in were so, so lucky. Very happy for Charles that he finally got to win his home race!

Great round up of a spectacular setting for a grand prix, Monaco is unique as a race track but I would love to see the safety of the circuit improved, and spice up the race a bit with 2-3 mandatory pit stops would make the race really juicy. great stuff

yes, it was the best for F1 for Charles (Lando, Carlos. . ) I keep saying "Max wins by 20 'minutes' every race." As far as paying celebs, I live in USA (born in Brooklyn, grew up in Queens) so nothing surprises us, nor do we care if a billion dollar company (F1, Mercedes, who ever) pays a celeb to show up.

The Monaco GP reminds me of the last stage of the Tour de France where the overall winner is uncontested. It is a parade, but parades can be entertaining. If you want a dose of real racing, just wait for the Indy 500 to start later in the day.

Qualifying was excellent Make the race more like qualifying Ultrasoft and super soft tires only. This would mean three or four pit stops

I think not only did the top ten start and finish in the same place but they also had the same position for each lap by the lap by lap positions. This has apparently neve happened before.

The funniest part of the weekend was definitely that boat going onto the pier, how drunk you have to be to do that in plain daylight, wouldn't have been funny if someone was hurt but thankfully that didn't happen

What about the Alpine cars Crashing in to each other going into the tunnel i think ocon is going to get a big fine from the team or will not race for a couple races did you get any pictures of that crash

You photographers are in the second most danderous position, behind the Drivers.The track marshalls are watching the race, you anre looking through a small aperture hole.
