Lol, does that change anything about the original statement?
It's a low kick and it's effective. Doest it matter if it's a kyokushin style or a muay thai style kick? the important thing is it's effective. It has to be kyokushin because the guy is wearing kyokushin uniform.. Ask him what his style is and if he says kyokushin there's nothing you can do about it. Even if you say it's not it will always be his answer that will matter not yours.

Mas Oyama adopted the Muay Thai low kick and it's leg block (although i could be wrong on this last one) when he was researching different fighting styles to creat Kyokushinkai. It's no disrespect or "lower action" to adopt whatever you feel is effective from other styles. Muay Thai adopted Western Boxing too.

I did kyokushin for 8 months and planning on getting back at it, mostly we would rotate the foot inward and take the kick on the bigger muscle groups, we knew how to block them but we blocked them rarely

In Kyokushin, We train punches to the head for a street fight. However in knock down karate tournaments, strikes to the head are not allowed. Kyokushin looks alot like Muay Thai and we often have them participate in our tournaments

@@codyjwoods absolutely not my friend! Combining karate and muay thai is a deadly tornado of stand up striking arts in street, ring or cage. Perfect match and both are power styles with full contact. Today we find a modern karate, wich is also, besides Kihon, Kata, Idogeiko, Kumite traditional stuff, adapted to professional fighting contests, such as K1 for example. This video is pretty interesting because it shows that. A interesting mix of kyokushin style of fighting (always a lot of low kicks, head kicks in combination with puches) but with gloves and face punches.

Yeah, traditional kyokushin is a little bit different, focusing more on kicks and chest/stomach punches. Traditionally, what it claims to be, was like "not punching in the face because it's too easy. let you only KICK the face. more dificult but also stronger. These rules were made by Grandmaster Oyama, to make a more competitive kumite. But some muay thai influence was into that: you can kind of hold your opponent's head to beat with your knee.
@MrSaber15213 жыл бұрын
@toxi87 if you trip over your gi you can shorten them. but often keeping your heel up will fix the bulk of the problem. also if you step shallower. it should fix it(but shotokan like the stances deep and heel down so maybe buy shorter gi)

@@TheMylittletony I know it is a year old comment, but I would like to add to the historical value of kyokushin to dutch kickboxing. With additional boxing skills you get Japanese kickboxing, which is still very free when it comes to combinations. In Mejiro gym, the japanese tailored the style fo the fighter. One of these fighters was Toshio Fujiwara. This man is basically what became the template for Dutch kickboxing style.

@hbolle00 here you go 1) informal greeting way among young male friends. Should not be used to greet older people. 2) Some Karate practicing people may be using this term in place of such as "yes sir*. However, it seems this word is a recent invention and not so much used among degnified old Karate-ka. 1) When two boys meet, they may say "ossu" "ossu" like "Hi" "Hello". 2) Karate-ka 1 show example, another may say "ossu".

I don't understand why people think that the way you train is the way you fight, sometimes we do stuff we never use in fights, most of them are for aquiring technique, speed, coordination, etc. And for fighting, that's what the sparrings are for. In Kyokushin we DO punch people in the face, we just don't do it in tournaments, since barefisted fighting tent to cause large cuts very easily, that rule is to protect fighters from unecessary, unconclusive damage.
