I see people asking why kata is performed without explosive movements in Kyokushin? It is because the Kyokushin Katas focus on meditating on correct performance and remembering the warrior spirit by getting into a kind of ritual battle dance. Kyokushin kata is a mesmerizing flow of ritual movements in the ecstasy of dreaming of a short battle. Even though explosive punches and kicks in Kyokushin are not used for in kata to keep the meditation flow and inner concentration; instead, in Kumite and sparring, Kyokushin practitioners hit each other hard, even in friendly practices.

Good evening, you say that because you do not know Kyokushin. This Ryu created by Mas Oyama Sosei is partly from the Shotokan of which Sosei was 4 ° Dan and Goju-Ryu of which he was 7 ° Dan. This school is based on full contact and pure efficiency by saving unnecessary movements. In addition, we work at KO without protection except for children and in Ichigéki (1 shot, 1 victory). The Shotokan today has nothing to do with the original because he lost his soul because of sports karate, it was necessary to remove everything that was percussive. Osu!

A lot of these look like the kata's we did when I was younger. I've been trying for a long time now to remember what the meaning or translation is of the style. I don't remember how to spell it, but it sounds like "Buju Sonki or Songki" Does anybody know what I'm talking about, and can you tell me the translation please?

You should imagine these movements happening at fast speeds or in a self defending and counter attacking situation, after walking and rehearsing the katas it becomes like normal movements knowing where to place your next, step, block or counter attack,..exercise ''routine''
