19 pts, 13 assists is impressive in this early part of his career. Jeremy lin has improved so much since NY days.
@VersionBest
@VersionBest 9 жыл бұрын
The difference between Lin and other premier point guards in the league is Lin is a pass first pg whereas most other pg are shoot first. If Lin had the same mentality as a shoot first pg and had similar starter minutes, there is no doubt Lin could average anywhere from 22 - 25 points a game, every game. After Linsanity in NY he was given an average of 12 - 15 minutes a game, nowhere near 33 - 38 minutes a game to produce high numbers.

I was at this game in MSG..what a treat. Lin could do this kind of performance often if given 33 min like that night and a faster offense or pick and rolls without ball stoppers Lin 33 min, 6-12, 5 reb, 13 ast, 1 stl, 1 TO, 3 PF, +13, 19 pts Irving 34 min, 8-18, 3 reb, 7 ast, 1 st, 4 TO, 3 PF, -19, 22 pts

@@runthrufields As per my research. The Knicks were going to match the original 4-year/$28M contract but then Houston gave him the poison pill contract which the Knicks couldn't match. Houston knows it, Lin knows it, that's why he wanted a lower contract so NY could match it. But his agent told him the offer was final.
@robwebnoid5763
@robwebnoid5763 9 ай бұрын
@@chowderchowdown ... there is also the hidden agenda by his agent that his profits would be lower too if he tried to negotiate to lower the poison contract if he could because agents mostly work off commission fees. since jeremy was still a rookie at this time (which is bothersome to me when critics say he was "exposed" by the miami heat, when jeremy was still a rookie & miami with its big 3 (james,wade,bosh) were already 10-year veterans). in this case, jeremy's agent would have gotten at most around 10% earnings on the poison contract.

Both Jeremy Lin and Irving are amazing players. They're talented, passionate and consistent. Irving is a great asset to the cavaliers since James is gonna retire soon, and it's nice to see basketball tricks from him like crossovers and so on, as well as three points. Jeremy reminds me of myself a lot, we both have the same tactics when it comes to scoring points while having a set defense, which involve full use of your body and doing the layup higher that normal. Great game, and I believe both players are extremely fun to watch. This is what i was looking for.This is the future of NBA i guess.

I feel like Lin to Dallas would make a lot of sense. They are a soon to be rebuilding franchise with literally 0 point guards. Don't even say Devin Harris. Plus he would control the ball more and possibly find a rhythm in a basic pick n roll offense feeding Dirk in the post and kicking out to Wes Matthew for spot up treys. It could work.
