The second Kyudo World Cup has been held at Paris on 2014. It gathered more than 500 practitioners coming from all over the word, and attracted many interested viewers.
Kyudo, the way of the bow, values three main principles : beauty, truth and goodness.
The video goes over the fantastic competition. The final has been disputed between Japan and France. Japan won the championship.
Dedicated to all the practitioners, lovers, and participants of Kyudo. Enjoy.
Sangam.

The audience, they clapped too much. I think clapping noise is really interrupted the competitor.

How can a Kyudo world cup exist if Kyudo is not a sport?

Dobromir Manchev I don't understand well. Why can't it be a sport? Why can't people have the mindset of it being a sport? Sure, there are a lot of people doing Kyudo for Zen or meditation-like purposes but some do it with the goal in mind to hit the target. So in my eyes it certainly can be qualified as a sport, if other Budos are as well.

The philosophy of Kyudo is not a sport but that does not mean that there can't be competitions. Competitions are common, even in Japan and are part of becoming a master over 30 years and more. As it derives from Samurai archery, competitions are a replacement for combat I would say and are just a small part of each ones total performance of Kyudo.

I GAVE A THUMBS UP. GLAD YOUR ENJOYING YOURSELVES. I CAN DO YOGA AND RELAX ANY MUSCLE IN MY BODY. I CAN RELAX MYSELF INTO A STATE OF POSITIVE MEDITATION. I CAN HIT THE TARGET OUT TO ABOUT 30 YDS. ALMOST EVERY TIME. I DO ENJOY THE PHILOSOPHY QUITE A BIT. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT IF U WANT TO BE A GOOD ARCHER DON'T PRACTICE KYUDO FORM JUST PRACTICE. THE PATH IS BEFORE U BUT YOU MUST WALK TO FIND IT. THANK U GARE
