I always wondered how this was done, thanks for sharing. Will probably have my kx100 cylinder sleeved soon.

Those ports are insane. It took me a while to orient. I wish you had a video on those ports.

Did you press the old sleeve out or did you have the aluminum sleeve bored to accept the sleeve inside it? Looking to do this on a yz125 need help thanks.

outboard mechanic here: heat the whole block up in the bbq or oven to 350-400f for about 20-30 min. sleeve should almost fall out. freeze new sleeve, warm up block again and drop new one in. considering this is by far the most expensive part, then have a machine shop do the boring and finish hone

I wonder how 2-stroke-cylinders featuring nothing but "a big hole" on the rear side could run for more than a few minutes...

How many times can you replace the piston and rings before needing to bore the sleeve

Once the sleeve gets worn down enough that the piston to cylinder clearance is to large for a std size piston where you will need a bigger piston then std size then you'll need a bigger bore.

@@michaelpresey2273 thanks for the help hadn't gotten a user friendly helpful answer until now... any idea how much clearance is too much???...

@josemares1439 piston to cylinder limits has to be between .056mm-.066mm or .0022in-.0026in so you'll have to measure your cylinder bore and minus that by your piston diameter, if it's between those numbers no more or less you shoukd be good to go
