Two very good artists … one was the original and one was covering him … that puts them and the debate in context.

I always liked Jim Morrison's version better, even though I like some of Billy Idol's other songs.

It's not Jim Morrison's version, it's the original Doors song :)

@Azzazzello Jim Morrison was the Lead singer of the Doors, that's his voice, making it his version. I shouldn't even have to explain, but some people just like to argue for the sake of arguing. I don't have time for that.

@@3DEditor Apparently you do :) What I meant is it doesn't feel right to make it look like this is 2 "equal" versions of some song. Here we have the original and a cover.

The Doors original one kills any version that dears to try to come close. And I'm a Billy Idol's fan! Jim's voice is unique and can't be compared to any other singer, as well as Elvis's, Robert Plant's, Ozzy's etc. But I'm not against covers. As long as they sound original like White Stripes' Seven Nation Army's Ben L'Oncle for instance! Just saying... 😂

with? this is not even the door’s real version. it’s an unreleased outtake. why don’t u put their unreleased outtake up against billy’s unreleased outtake?
