That's understandable. I practice sword, and when we did a local demonstration, we had someone join our club thinking the same thing, "Oh, that looks easy. Just get a sharp sword and swing away." Actually, there's a lot of technique to it...as she found out soon enough ;-) If there is a sword club near you, though, you should try it. LOTS of fun!

Outstanding sword control. I like how he chooses the tachi over a katana to suit his strength. You must make the sword style your own.

I've studied the video more carefully, and I have to agree with you on many points, especially the potential of hurting himself or others. This is especially true of the tsubame cut at 2:47 TOWARDS HIS LEG! My sensei would make me go put down my sword so he could then kick the crap out of me for being so reckless. So thanks for the comments, and I'll know better what I'm looking at next time.

idk, looks easy to me. But i've never held a sword before lol. Guess I really don't know what's going on here... still looks like anyone could do it though.

No, no, my friend. It doesn't work like that. I'm not criticizing anyone. You're the one who wrote "this guy doesn't have very good technique," so you're the one doing the criticizing, so it's up to you to offer an affirmative defense. But tell you what, why don't you just tell me what you find wrong with his technique and we'll take it from there. Personally, I hold shodan rank from the US Batto-do Federation, and I don't offer my technique as exemplary--again, I'm not criticizing, you are.

@scottbaioisdead ...quite presumptuous...he is skilled...why shouldn't he use the sword like that? the curve is wrong placed? ok, but come on, he succeded anyway in the cut! do you judge one's ability only for the correct way to wear a sword? ok...then he'll cut you down during the time in wich you are trying to move "correctly"

Anyone is proficient in tameshigir with a hira zukuri style blade. it's basically a paper thin blade with little to no niku, and no shinogi. These take virtually no skill.

non ci vuole sta grande abilità????sono bravi tutti a far saltare in aria i pezzi tagliandoli con un "rasoio di tali dimensioni" come lo chiami tu...ma provaci tu ad essere cosi bravo, veloce e potente da tagliarlo e farlo spostare di un dito come ha fatto lui nel secondo taglio...ho visto molti altri video, tipo quelli di tameshigiri, in confronto al tipo di sto video sembrano dei ballerini pelatori di patate...

+Mario Rosati tutta questa velocità non la vedo, solo tagli singoli con caricamenti lentissimi. In una situazione reale la bravura si vede estraendo la spada e colpendo istantaneamente. Così come ha detto l'altro tizio sono tutti bravi. Il mio maestro Miyamoto Musashi è in grado di estrarre e tagliare 6 rotoli di bamboo in una frazione di secondo. Questo qui comunque è un attore coreano, allenato nell'arte della katana ma lungi dall'essere un maestro.

Robert S madonna voi state male “in una situazione reale bisogna essere veloci” li la situazione richiedeva precisione e accuratezza infatti ha fatto dei tagli impressionanti, sarebbe capace di tagliare un vaso in due senza far uscire l’acqua contenuta all’interno si vede proprio che non ci capite un cazzo

これは日本刀ではない韓国の藁斬専用の刀とみた。袴は日本の仕立て方そのもの。オリジナルはない。基本は全てコピーとパクリだ。やはり、昔からの伝統による武術でなくては、真の本物の文化とはいえないだろう。二番煎じでは、いくらかっこ良く決めても贋作の域をでない。絵画の模写と同じだ。
