The best thing to get a applebees has and always will be there oriental chicken salad, but you can also get it and wrap form, which is what I originally came as and it is amazing. The sauce they put on that stuff is god tier.

That salad was my go-to order until about a year ago. They changed the noodles from the thick, crunchy ones to thin ones that instantly became soggy. I make it at home now.

I work there. Here's the thing at my store at least- almost everything is made in house and portioned in house. So alot of the times we are just warming them up to the correct temp. But that's some of the sides. I'm not saying you're wrong but I figured to explain more :)) obviously meat, chicken, and fried items are made as they are ordered

I also work there but as a line cook lol the food I usually get is the southwest chicken bowl, fiesta lime chicken, 3 cheese chicken penne, broccoli chicken alfredo, or any of the burgers the lotta bacon burger we have (basically copied the Wendy's baconator with a few tweaks) is also good also the quesadilla chicken salad we have, literally just copied from Chili's the chicken bacon ranch fries, copied from Charley's Phillysteak (I think, not sure), only difference with ours I just diced up chicken tenders

I don’t go to Applebees for steaks, I usually get the burgers, chicken tenders or Quesadillas there But in steakhouses like Texas Roadhouse, Outback and Longhorn I get steaks there and not burgers

I currently work there & can agree with you its also my first job too & my GM is always up my ass no matter what, annoying me, always rushing, etc which raises my anger levels also hate it when it's dead, the other cooks are on their phone doing nothing (mainly either mornings or Tuesday which is the dead day) & the GM doesn't bat an eye but when I do it, I always get caught 🙄 (yes I know we're not supposed to be on our phones but I just wanna chill after making a few orders) next month will be my 3rd year there started off as a dishwasher (hated it so much that I wanted to quit) & went to a line cook and occasionally the prep person (that makes the pico de gallo, etc)

I did the boneless wings before and they shaft you. You get a small plate to start with and then they bring you out a little plate with like 3 of them on it for you to eat. Server takes like 20 mins to come check on you so you get annoyed before you get full.

I went to Applebee's with my cousin's family about 10 years ago, maybe a little more. When the server brought out the food, my cousin's vegetables were in plastic bags. We calked the server back and she started apologizing like crazy. She wouldn't explain it, but an employee I spoke to online said that none of the side dishes are fresh. The steaks are cooked fresh, but just about everything else there is frozen, even the "stir fry vegetables." They dropped the freezer bags into boiling water for X amount of minutes, then plate them. So either the server or the kitchen staff forgot to cut open and remove the plastic. Starting about 20 years ago, we'd all go out to Applebee's together about once every 3 months. We had noticed the food quality dropping substantially over the previous few years. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. None of us have ever been back.

I freaking believe everything you've said. Back then it used to be good but now it's gotten down hill. They started cutting corners & getting lazy with their food. I mean even their drinks have cheap alcohol in it & tbh I don't trust the all you can eat meals. Now it's become a ratchet place, the one that's close-ish to me is & it has been probably five years or more since I've been back. I'm still shocked that people still eat there after many employees have put them on blast about the food, drinks & poor quality.

the Applebee's I'm at, it's right next to a freeway & between a Tropical Smoothie Cafe & a Village Inn so on busy days (mainly Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays), the parking lot will be full & sometimes have to park at the other restaurants lol

Personally when i go I stick to either the bourbon street chicken and shrimp with mushrooms and mash patatos or the bourbon street mushroom burger the burger wont blow you out of the water because the only thing really flavoring it is the brioche breaks and mushroom and the onions but the burger is bland but the chicken and shrimp is really good 10/10 would recommend

Well yeah it doesn't take a genius to realize all you can eat wings and shrimp for $15 has a cost. That cost is an inevitable race to the bottom for quality, as the only way this financially makes sense is to get the absolute cheapest quality ingredients and cheapest labor. So yeah, always take "all you can eat for x price" with a massive grain of salt

I guess it depends on locations, I live in Puerto Rico and I've eaten at Applebee's in New York too, and fries are pretty decent. I've had that steak and shrimp and I've ordered the steak medium rare and it's juicy and perfectly seasoned. The nearest location where I go with my wife even has a two for $32 permanent offer with good dishes and service is really good, even the manager once that my wife's order took long gave us free deserts for the wait, I don't know if that's common, but it was great service.
