Sorry for not writing in mandarin since I'm not very confident in it but i read a couple of comments and here is what i have to say about that as someone living in Germany. First the people: They may appear cold at first but once you break through the shell you will have a friend for life. Unlike in America where it's really easy to make a lot of friends but hard to get a close one. And when you made such a friend you can joke with him however you like, may it be darker than choclate. Germans having no humor is just a plain lie. We also like to have fun. Fooling around with your friends is a common thing. But those things are also just broad stereotypes. Germany is very diverse in culture throughout the country. Usually people from the north are a little more reserved and the further south you go the warmer and more welcoming they become. Dicrimination: I don't know where you heard that but discrimination against foreigners and Asians is really rare here but there are obviously some idiots as in every country. People are usually very open minded and Germany is the second largest migration destination after the US. The same goes for every northern european country i think. Racism is much more common in China than in Germany. Chinese even discriminate against themselves... Also seperation by class is not very common here. There is of course the super super rich but it is common for wealthy people to live right next to not so wealthy people and they can still be friends. The gap between rich and poor is pretty close and wealth is spread relativley equally among the citizens, so most people are from the middle class. Also most of the time you can't even tell that someone is rich because people don't like to brag that much. They will still drive a normal car, wear normal clothes and live in a normal house. Only the number in their bankaccount will be a lot bigger than yours. It is not uncommon to see your boss riding a bike to work every morning. Work and life: Germans usually like to follow the rules of society and take care of each other. That's why the healthcare system and infrastructure work so well. This is also reflected in the low crime rate which is still getting less and less every year. They also like to seperate their work from their private lifes and really really like their freetime. They use it to do a lot of sport, go out with friends or travel. BUT in those 8 hours of work they give it their hardest. Germany is known all around the world for their good quality in products from every sector. Especially in engineering, medicine, technnology and chemistry. They are very efficient and strict when it comes to work. They are right after China and the US when it comes to exporting goods, which is really impressive when comparing sizes. Almost every german speaks at least 2 languages, so you can come by when you only know english. Though it is still appreciated that you learn at least some german. It is always a sign of respect to the country when you know the language. This applies to all countries. The government is really helpful to new immigrants and provides free language classes to everybody. Germans are also very helpful. The thing is that you have to ask for it since they don't want to be rude and intrude your personal space unasked. This also applies to restaurants. If you have any questions just ask. They are very professional and will gladly help you out. Germany is not perfect by any means nor is it paradise but you can live a very good life here. There is a reason why it placed so high on the happiness-index. The government likes to take care of its people. Sorry for the long comment 🙏 but i hope i could help you out a bit. If you still have any questions i can answer them when you reply to me. Take care 🙋♂️

dude it’s a really detailed and sincere comment, thx for sharing
Jie Xie
You may consider to learn Chinese in order for you to be competitive. Most of the Tertiary educated Chinese are able to read English books/articles/VLog/.. and as such they can pick up knowledge from both English and Chinese. There are a lot of good information translated from non Chinese to Chinese but the reverse is not comparable.
