When I first watched Code Geass series I never really thought about Lelouch being with CC. I think everyone would agree that back then we thought of Lelouch and Kallen, instead. But along the way, especially at season 2, it became apparent. I honestly didn't like the idea of Lelouch and CC at first but as the series progress, I started to understand it. In a way, Lelouch and CC are really meant to be.

I always had a soft spot for Childhood best friends, in any movie or tv show. So shirley was always in 1st place for me. But I think if they didn't turn this into a faux harem, kallen would be the character that made the most sense to end up with lelouch. CC could have been a wise old women or man or a magical fairy type character or anything else really and the story would have still made sense. But since it's anime, she has to be a sexy teenager character. 😅🤗 And shirley, I guess, had to die because lelouch wasn't like most male protagonist where he had moments of romance in between the overarching story. And shirley was headover heels with lulu. And lulu would never choose a normal life with shirley over taking over britannia so she had to be killed over. Love was barely even on his to do list.

I count this movie as a sequel to the series, even though it is a slightly different timeline, but only when i want to feel happy. When want to feel somber, i leave it out.

If they had just kept shirley dead, it would have made more sense. As much as I want her resurrected. It made no sense. They just ignored her dead and pretended it didn't happen. And she wasn't even in the movie at all. They just mentioned her name twice.

The reasons Shirley is not dead in the movies is because there simply wasn’t enough time for her death, so the movie directors just kept her alive

I took me a few years to realize this, but when Lelouch said what his new name to C.C. would be, i realize that it sounded like he proposed to her. Because in marriage, the person either takes on the one they love’s family name or they use both. And if you just understand what i mean then you agree with me. L.L. & C.C. And with how they look at the end of this movie then it’s obivious that they got married, on their own, not normal marriage like people have to do to get married.

I get that. But I think it was just him finally honoring his contract and finally fulfilling her true wish. Which is for someone to truly love her and make her sad life feel like something worth living for. I don't think she was thinking marriage at this point. It was just hearing someone say they truly loved her. And by taking on the L.L. moniker, he was admitting this and admitting that he will be with her forever since she can never die unless it is fulfilled through geass contract. But yeah, as the song goes, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the - lol

Yeah, I just wish they kept it canon. As much as I would love Shirley to survive and start helping Lelouch anyway she could in r2. they should have left her dead. She wasn't even important in the movie.

@ I don't buy that alternative universe stuff. The recap movies barely change the story and don't change it in any meaningful way (sure Shirley lives but it has zero impact). I view Resurrection as a sequel to the original series.

I meant I don't buy that in meaningful sense as the recap movies change barely anything and what they do change has no impact so I personally don't buy the alternative universe explanation. Resurrection comes across as a continuation of the same exact story.

I feel grateful for watching Code Geass and want to congratulate the creators and voice actors. Actually I like the idea of creating an alternative timeline and later we see a sequel. Also I like the idea that they expand the franchise. This movie for me is a master piece. Voice acting just perfect! I remember myself get emotional in the indirectly proposal and even though i finished the movie the same day I replayed that certain scene three times. So the demon started a journey with his witch.

Someone on yt posted a managa alternative ending to the show and ong I love that idea. Basically, c2 at the very last minute decides that she can't let lelouch die, so she jumps in front of suzaku's sword and dies instead. Lelouch then inherent c2's code and is immortal. But due to the guilt of all his actions and seeing c2 dies he decides to order suzaku and the other black knights to lock him away in a sleep chamber and everyone has orders to never let him out until the world is in dire distress like before. Then I don't remember how hand centuries past but someone opens the hatch and it's a descendent of nunnallys and she states throughout history everyone has been order to never open what's inside their chamber unless the world needs a hero. And apparently overtime people forget what was it the chamber and the info was lost. But then leouch regains his surroundings and asked her if she was willing to posses the power of the king. And I was like 🤯 this is actually cool and sets up a really cool direct sequel. And c2 does get both her wishes. She got someone to love her and gets to end her suffering. Pretty cool huh?

I don't think immortals in this universe can have kids as she technically has died multiple times. I mean, the writers can do whatever they want, but it wouldn't make sense. Basically, vampire rules.
