Many thanks for sharing lectures !!. They are invaluable. While going through definition of expected values for random variables. I was wondering if there is any relation between convex hull property and expected value of random variables. The condition for convex hull looks similar to expected value definition of discreet random variables.

I did not understand that how did the expectation come out to be equal to P(A) in case of bernoulli random variable. The given answer is possible only when X=0 for failure event. Am I correct?

correct is the "center of mass" not "center of gravity"...

“Center of mass” assumes rotation while “center of gravity” assumes singular, uniform, vertically downward force. This is a rare case where they are the same thing... I doubt Dr. Tsitsiklis would make an error that deliberate.

@@rodolfog2459They correspond mathematically as values... but they are not the same thing. You don't have "gravity" in a distribution.
