Wow that trick with helping each other up almost feels like a real game mechanic. It's a technique used all throughout history; one pushes you up the ledge and then you pull the other up. Or vice versa.

Next video left 4 dead 2 glitches that work 2018

Left 4 dead 2 is the best zombie co op FPS I've ever played. Although it came out in 2009 it remains the chosen game of valves, and of many players. And much loved on geforce now and on steam, for those who have never played it recover it absolutely. There for xbox 360 and xbox one. Given that the xbox one is backward compatible.

This went from "how they patched stuff that you can do in left 4 dead" to "look at these exploits and stuff in l4d" back to the first and then back to second.

Jesus this video was a memory trip, I remember doing nearly every single one at one point in time ~10 years ago - and being subsequently confused when some of them didn't work again in L4D2 lol

My issue with some of these fixes is they limit the way you are able to interact with the map which makes it less fun. They should have left it the way it is in campaign mode but fix it for vs mode.

Missed some stuff on the first No Mercy map when you spawn on the apartment roof. There are two ways you can skip apartments entirely at the spawn point alone. One of them softlocks the game and the other lets you down on street level without taking damage. The second is commonly used in speedruns.

The old school L4D1 miss me . When we started to play people showed us, it was kind of mandatory to progress and those who managed to do a good race were rewarded, because it was very satisfying

And yet despite all of its bugs and exploits L4D1 is still my favorite.

I seem to remember one where in the first Left 4 Dead you could hold the jump button while and you would float in the water on the sacrifice.

I remember when you shoved the minigun (don't know how many times) on the last area of dead air, you can launch yourself on top of the c-130 if you jumped on the minigun.

One of my favorite tricks was on the no mercy finale. In the far back left corner (looking from the helipad to the building with the radio for reference) there was a spot where you could hop from the pipes connecting from the roof of the radio building onto a big air unit and then from there jump onto the little ledge with the spotlight. I'm not sure if it was patched but I seem to recall struggling to replicate the same trick at times on PC despite previously being able to do it without any problem on the console version. It was pretty fun to hold out and pick off infected easily. The only specials you had to worry about were spitters, hunters, tanks, and occassionally jockeys. SOmetimes smokers as well but you had a pretty good vantage point so you could almost always pick one off unless you had a shotgun

Parkour’ing your way around was what made L4D great. It really made you look for alternate routes.

I don't know if it was a conscious editing decision but that beatdrop at 9:34 while breaking the vent is a wonderful detail

For anyone wondering why they'd fix these: Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 have pretty competitive communities, many of it's modes have competitive scoring (Versus, survival, scavenge, ect), and achievements that are meant to be hard for the non competitive modes (Expert realism, ect). As such, these areas of the maps needed to be fixed to level the playing field, reducing the visual gap between a normal player and a experienced one. Making sure you follow the intended path. And preventing use of god/jesus rooms in which the AI cannot physically path to you, making you invincible even when afk.

You forgot in the first level you can skip the building by jumping off onto a vent. They removed that vent in l4d2

Part of the reason I do prefer l4d 1 is the ragdoll when you die rather than a scripted animation where you fall down just little things like that i missed in l4d2

there's also the turret glitch in death toll - the town (by the fork lift) if you stand on top of it and hit the use key, press the jump key right before you land on the ground and it will fling you in the air (not the same as the patched turret glitch where you melee it a ton) and the box glitch in death toll in the sewers, before you lower the bridge, blow up a wooden box with a pipebomb so it gets flung onto the higher platform, then u can get access to the infected only part of the sewer (survival mode only i think)
