"The Canary dance (known as Canario in Italian sources, Canarie in French ones) was a Renaissance dance inspired in an indigenous dance and song of the Canary Islands (probably the one known as Tajaraste) that became popular all over Europe in the late 16th and early 17th century." "The dance, which is most often choreographed for a single couple, has been characterized as "a fiery wooing dance" with either Canary origins or at least a Canary flavor from its "rapid heel-and-toe stamps" and distinctive music. It was also called frogs legs, because it was an energetic dance that featured jumps, stamping of the feet and violent movement, accompanied by music with syncopated rhythms."

I can almost play a version of this dance on classical guitar (it's not easy) but I had never seen 'Canarios' danced and wondered what it looked li k e. Very good. The dancing, the costumes etc.

Sie tanzen zweifellos sehr gut. Aber beide könnten etwas synchroner tanzen. Dafür ist der Tänzer etwas zu langsam. Das wird besonders in der Passage deutlich, in der beide sich mit erhobenen Händen drehen.

Sí y no. En esa época es sencillo ponerse en situaciones. No habia tele, no habia fotos, no había nada. Un viaje a las Américas eran 2-3 meses, y a Canarias 2 semanas Estos "Canarios", son la interpretación propia de Gaspar Sanz, un tanto personal y otro tanto aportación sobre los relatos que le contaban viajeros que venían de Canarias. Si te fijas es muy parecido a otros tantos bailes populares como la Jota. Canarias fue poblada por peninsulares, y algo de mestizaje hubo con aborigenes y sus costumbres, Lo dicho, SI NO Y UN POCO DE TODO

@@jmcj3021 Este baile de "Canarios" fue el precursor de La Jota un siglo antes de que La Jota Naciera. Esta pieza in particular fue creada por Gaspar Sanz, compositor de Calanda en Aragon cuando "Canarios" ya se habia extendido por toda Europa desde El Renacimiento Italiano hasta el Barroco y fue clave para J.S Bach

DEberían estudiar sobre todo los bailes de las actuales jotas populares españolas para pillarle por lo menos un poco de gracia y el aire. Es evidente la filiación.

Es verdad, pero al menos lo intentan y hay que agradecer el interés... sobre todo dado que en España cada vez hay menos de "eso" y que estos bailes no se promocionan en absoluto ( sólo el flamenco, siempre el flamenco, nada más que el flamenco ).
