The first public cemetery in the city of Buenos Aires in 1822, La Recoleta Cemetery is the most historical and artistic monument of Argentina.
Located in the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It contains the graves of notable people, including Eva Perón, presidents of Argentina, Nobel Prize winners, the founder of the Argentine Navy, and a granddaughter of Napoleon.

🇧🇷 Imagine this: you wake up. It is night. Its raining and the lightnings are striking in the sky. You realize you are all alone inside this cemetery. Some of the statues seems do move...they are looking at you... how would you feel? This cemetery could inspire many horror movies, art movies, hope movies and much, much more. 🇧🇷

What strikes me most is you don’t see the vandalism and destruction we see here in the US. There are mausoleums here where bodies have been takin from their vaults, and human remains are found scattered all around. So many of mausoleums here have been reinforced and blocked off. that even family can’t visit their loved ones

Thank you for the comments and comparison. La Recoleta is an admired cemetery where mostly famous and wealthy people have been buried, it is clear the upkeep of this unique place is special as there are so many tales of famous tombs.

Estoy aqui porque acabo de ver otro documental de El Cementerio de los Ilustres en San Salvador, El Salvador y lo comparan con el de La Recoleta. El famoso Paraguayo, Agustin Barrios Mangore, descanza en el Cementerio de los Ilustres.

This video of your visit to the Recoleta cemetary in Argentinas capital Buenos aires was very interested. i have seen many video of mauseleums in the USA, but those I have seen here in this video was amazing. Very expensive graves and only the rich people from Argentina could be burried here.... Very nice reportage you did here....watching this video from Paramaribo Suriname

@@joejourneys Thank you for sharing this video, this is interesting to see the Recoleta Cemetery, perhaps the highlight of this visit is to see the tomb of Evita "Eva" Peron. This is a must see and the best tourist attractions when visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina. My parents visited Argentina three years ago, and my mother told me about Evita that she was buried somewhere in Italy for 16 years during the overthrow of her husband, Juan Peron.

what a wonderful video ,the statues are so lifelike, exquisite workmanship. it is more like a medieval town than a cemetry. love the familia del carril wife having her back to husband what a mmarriage that must have been. thanks for doing the video it is some thing i would never get to see in my lifetime thanks

An intriguing place. Your camera work is suburb. You’re right about the interesting stories especially the one regarding David the gravedigger. How was he allowed to be interred on consecrated ground when he killed himself?

He worked all his life saving for his plot and worked in the graveyard.

JOEJOURNEYS Even so, I’m still surprised. The Church had very strict rules when it came to suicides. In England, they were buried on unconsecrated ground, or at crossroads outside of the settlement. Later, I think that they were allowed burial on the north side of the church - the Devil’s side.

Dear Mr John Doe. Sorry to be so late. I just came across this wonderful video. I work in Buenos Aires as a local Tour Guide. All you have read so far are urban legends. Anyway. If mr Alleno"had killed himself" he would have been able to be buried in the cemetery because it was excommunicated in 1864 by the Vatican when a masonic gentleman was buried here for the first time. Come and visit us sometime🖑

Thank you for the question. For this film I used a GoPro Hero 5 with a stabiliser as well as a Sony A7 with 16-35 lenses for a wider view.

Asco da tu comentario. Es uno de los cementerios más lindos del mundo, miles de turistas lo visitan al año y alberga personalidades destacadas de la historia del país, que han marcado la historia mucho más que vos... y te creés que deberían ser recordados igual que vos? jaja
