I believe she told the truth about a lot of things when she was being managed by Jack Gordon but I don't see her being truthful about their intimacy here. She seemed more honest in her reality show when she told Kathy Hilton she was never intimate with him. Unrelated to this video, but the reason I believe she burst into tears when Kathy asked her if she's a virgin is because she's a CSA survivor. She's talked about Joe sexually abusing her on many occasions and she has never retracted those claims. I too enjoy how forthcoming she was in the 90s. But it's important to remember that once she divorced Jack Gordon she was penniless. He took all her money she earned because the judge mostly sided with him in the divorce proceedings. The judge ordered him to pay LaToya hundreds of thousands of $$$ but he never did. A couple of years ago it was revealed via TMZ that Katherine gives her family allowances from the estate the most being $7,000/mo to Rebbie Jackson, $10,000/mo to Randy. $12,000/mo to Jermaine, ....and wait for it.... $30,000/mo. to La Toya! Now you do the math.

This interview seems so strange to me. She doesn't even seem scared of him, unlike the previous one. And then this thing that she says they were trying to have a baby 😱 and that she preferred Gordon over a sperm donor, because she wasn't sure the donor didn't have AIDS, whereas she trusted Gordon, because she knew him for a long time... in the book "Starting over", there is no mention of this alleged attempt to have a baby and furthermore it is written that she had the doubt that Gordon had AIDS instead of cancer as he said, since he attended brothels. However, in a recent video asking her if the marriage had been consummated, she assured it no and talked about Gordon's attempt to rape her, but she screamed so much that he finally gave up. In the book, however, she strangely does not even mention this episode. Regarding the alleged abuse by the father, I had read (I don't remember where) that there were two episodes (the last one shortly after they moved to California), but I think to have understood that it was not a matter of complete sexual intercourse, but only touching, but maybe I misunderstood it, I'm not sure, also because she has never been very detailed on this (and also because I'm italian and I'm not fluent in english, so maybe I read wrong). I certainly do not want to justify Joseph with this, because it does not make it any less serious. If this story of the abuse is true, of course, because after she ran away from Gordon, she didn't talk about it anymore, and indeed, in the reality show it seemed that she got along very well with her father and even asked him if she could call him Dad. I don't think a person who has been sexually abused by her father can be so attached to him. Having said that, I want to believe everything she wrote in the book and I always believed everything, until I saw this video, which confused all my ideas. Now I don't understand anything anymore. In all the other previous interviews I understood that she was lying and I saw her weird and scared, but here I see her very relaxed. So where is the truth?

The only ones that I have seen was American Bandstand (I believe) for the first, Good Morning America for Heart Don't Lie, Donahue for the country album.....you are a right. I really wish that she would have utilized some of her appearences differently, and wish that her music would have been given more of a chance. I think R&B, Pop, and dance music fans would have liked it, especially Heart Don't Lie and La Toya.

the allegations came later. she was running from control personally and legally from her father and family. she felt she would be kidnapped by her family and forced to come back home and do what they wanted to do and he suggested if they were married joe wouldnt be able to control her in any way. after saving her many times she trusted him and agreed. it wasnt until much later after they were married as a business arrangement that he started beating on her and forcing her to make these allegations of her family in exchange for top dollars from the media. smh
