Это очень круто! Дестреза в свое время произвела настоящую революцию в понимании фехтования и боя с холодным оружием. Отбросив строгие формы, оставив содержание, так сказать "снятие с удержанием", создали невероятный инструмент умерщвления себе подобных.

I think the footwork is deliberate, actually. Apparently Destreza specializes in off-line footwork as opposed to the linear footwork of Italian fencing - the Spanish believed it was safer to move around the opponent rather than towards him. If you look at the Renaissance Rapier video from the same guys, you'll see they move quite differently.

Depende quién use la vara de avellano. Porque esto es cualquier cosa (incluso se reconoce alguna defensa a la italiana) pero no es verdadera destreza, que no admite la posibilidad nunca de un doble golpe, cuando estos caballeros a menudo llegan a ello. De todas formas, magnífico esfuerzo.

Thank you for sharing this clip! Could you let me know how can I get some text written by Luis Pacheco? I'm really curious about how much differences there was between Thibault's style and Pacheco's one. I've already get and read Thibault's translated manual and some part of Pacheco's text translated by Tim Rivera. But it makes me more curious about their differences....

el verdadero peligro es que , si uno de estos espadones , le llega a golpear no hay vara de avellano que lo proteja a uno esa arma es un arma de matar y al acero hay que tener mucho cuidado

Try finding the Russian movie 1612 (from 2007), it does have some interesting portrayal of fencing from old manuscripts in it. (Can't really judge if it's technically the Verdadera Destreza, but it does contain elements of the geometry/ground circles among other things.) I recommend searching for clips from it on KZfaq, it's a fairly long movie and the sword fights are somewhat long between but they exist as compilations.

@@LordJike Kung Fu literally means human achievement in chinese. When someone says his kung fu is stronger than yours, he means he's achieved more than you.
