Not enough People with jobs , paying Taxes , too many People entering the Country to be Fed , Housed and Clothed , too much Money going out of the Country , with no returns , too Many Multi National Businesses with a '' Gold '' Tax deal , worked out with the Revenue Department , paying for Wars abroad , etc etc etc .

Mate....I'm Bradford born and bred. You're right.....Bradford was a great place to grow up in the 60'/70's/80's. Great night life in the 80's when it seemed to enjoy something of a renaissance. I left the BD postal area in 2016 for various reasons. This IS a revenue raising exercise.....but it will backfire spectacularly. I return to Bradford when I have to.....in and out quick as I can. I must research the scope of this hair brained idea.....don't want to get caught out!!

@@Bongo1454 I've read most of the GOV.uk net zero document which does not mention fines for driving current law abiding road users and cars. Their document regarding electric cars does not mention future fines by local authorities for electric vehicles who, by Khan's logic, are responsible for potholes or potholes getting bigger because EV's are heavier and intends to fine/tax electric car users in London. The document is quite extensive and is aimed at reducing emissions by 2050 which is a good thing but at the moment fines applied to motorists do not reduce emissions.

I went to Bradford City centre last Wednesday for the first time in 30 years. It's bad very bad. All the department stores gone. No nice shops. Every where closed up and To Let. Aggressive young migrants hanging around the few shops open, spitting and smoking. Bouncers ( doormen ) working Nandos at 10 am, trying to look hard in front of some pigeons . No where easy to park. Local political corruption has destroyed this once beautiful never to be again City. How did it get City of Culture, well a bit of dodgy dealing there. Empty Mills, masterpieces of architecture now mostly owned by Asians and empty for years even now catch fire. Policing by consent. If you don't know what that means - no go area's.

I don't think many people fart as much as you must do. but if you are on about CO2, a EURO6 compliant vehicle would produce on average 98g of CO2 per KM, so a 10 mile car journey per day would produce as much CO2 as a human

Johnson's earlier ULEZ was intended to supplement the Low Emission Zone which was introduced in London by Labour Mayor Ken Livingstone in February 2008 to charge heavy diesel vehicles that did not meet minimum standards for emissions of particulate matter. The LEZ was expanded several times and now covers most of Greater London.

Yes I was and it was coal fired heating and not motor cars, there is an imitate problem with climate change, actually no, scientists have been saying we need act now for almost 100 years.

Actually, I would like to add, I drive around 3000 miles per year and cycle between 5000 and 6000 miles per year, I'm 63 years old. I'm not saying that's an option for everyone, but if I can and have always done, then others can do the same.
