The plaintiff says he gave the defendant a check as a deposit on an apartment and then realized he wrote it off the wrong account. He says he asked the defendant not to deposit it, but he did it anyway. Now he won’t return the money, so he’s suing to get it back. The defendant says the plaintiff told him the check would bounce, and a second check did bounce. He asked for cash and the plaintiff disappeared.

I love her. She's always on the ball and catches the littlest things and waits till it comes back around and there's no way to squirm out of the lie. 😂😂 It's so satisfying when leans back, crosses her arms and begins to ask questions in slower cadence. I always sit up and think 🤔 Mmmmmmm what's she walking this person into😅🤣🤣😂 I'm pretty sure she enjoys really getting to the bottom of it. Judge Judy most of the time seems to have distane for both parties in most cases and isn't bothered in the least if the truth doesn't come out.

@@Rain-oq7vh That does not necessarily make them old lol. There are lots of people who have enough in savings that the addition of $600 wouldn't be immediately obvious. Maybe they don't check the balance every day, or maybe they have an account they use for business that has a lot in it. Or, maybe they just have direct deposit and earn enough money that $600 isn't that big of a deal. Financially secure in no way equals old. Smh.

Depends on how much the check is, and how long it's been out. I sent a club a $10 membership fee (this was a LONG time ago) and the ppl held the cheque for almost 6 mos. (they staledate here at 6 mos. ) That night i remembered i'd been shopping...i wondered if there was enough money in the chequing account left to cover everything. So i was at the bank when it opened the next day to switch money from the savings account. Needless to say, the club had managed to put the chequed through the night before....the Bank, Bless them, were kind enough to NOT charge the bounced cheque fee....+

This is why I do not accept personal checks. I collect the holding fee/first month's rent in cash or certified bank check after I check them out and approve them. The holding fee converts to rent at lease signing. If tenant backs out and doesn't take the place, they lose that money that is applied to rent while I try to secure another tenant. Then I make an appointment with them to sign the lease where they have to bring the balance at that time, again no personal check.

Those of us with a long torso have trouble finding ties long enough. Even then the little side is only gonna be a couple inches long. Not all of us are 5'8

@@TopherGrant Topher, thank you for the explanation. I assumed the difference would be where/when the fold happens. Perhaps the issue lies with tie manufacturers. Have a sparkling day!

I know he's the producer of the show, but Harvey Levin just comes across as so slimy. Yuck 🤮

But because the Show pays all the judgements the landlord gets to keep that $650. So no matter what the defendant wins. No justice here.

No I think what happens is the court pays the settlement right away and then whoever is responsible has to pay the court back. Could be wrong but that seems like the only plausible explanation lol

This to me was a very confusing case between these two litigants. But I believe the women connected to these two on both sides should've stayed completely out of it which certainly wouldn't cut down much of the confusion. When women get involved there always seems to be drama and confusion amongst other things that comes along with it.

And that can be blamed on the plantiff and defendant. Never have someone else do your business and never do business with someone you have never met face to face. They were in the same area I take it. Everybody is stupid in this case. The men, the women.. maybe its in the water?

I think it has less to do with gender and more to do with no communication. There were four parties and on the defendants side they obviously didn't inform the other of interactions with plaintiffs side.

The women were all involved in the very beginning in place of the two litigants which is why things didn't work out. It should've been to two men from the start. Having the women involved ruined everything.
