Imagine if for example messi played in Argentina, he would score a hattrick every game and Maradona took ped's which for me takes him out of the discussion. The rivalry was what propelled them to that level of greatness IMO. You cannot be a fan of one without acknowledging the other. They kept pushing each other to be better. At the peak of their powers undoubtedly none could even compare to them. The story at the time too, Cristiano vs Messi, Barca vs Madrid, A guy who was undersized but had the touch and a guy built himself physically to dominate. These 2 are on a level of their own.

@PVRIS I’m just speaking statistically. You can google it if you don’t believe me. Obviously Messi’s dribbles where he beats 6+ men are better, but Hazard was more successful (less losing the ball when attempting a dribble) than Messi for awhile, which is quite impressive for playing in physical premier league. Hazard was doing 6.4 dribbles per 90 SUCCEEDING 75% of them. Messi 5.5 per 90, 62% success (tho he was abit older and less fast/agile at this point) Please be mature and able to have a discussion instead of attacking anyone who says something slightly bad about Messi, I think he is the best player ever its just an interesting fact about Hazard

Messi has trophies with psg and inter Miami currently and he still show his quality to this day. I’m in Ghana, and I stay up at night to watch Messi. This man has transformed my life, for me the greatest to ever walk the pitch.

I feel sorry for those fan boys xD. Messi did everything in his prime, so did Ronaldo. Cristiano in Manchester United was one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen, he could drible any1. I agree 100% that we will not see another Messi again, he is different, but we will not see another Cristiano either and saying otherwise is the same as saying that he is not one of the best. There is no defined goat, Cristiano is the idol of some Messi is the idol of others, simple. But I have a clear conscience, I enjoyed every moment I saw the two of them play. Comparisons are for kids who haven't seen every stage of each one's career, every evolution, every big moment. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to be born in time to see them play during their careers

Ronaldo strength is goalscoring. Messi has that and a lot more. The 3 most important attacking attributes by far are finishing, passing/assisting and dribbling. Messi is 10/10 in all and ronaldo is only 10/10 finishing.

Skills is messi he runs through entire teams while ronaldo does stepovers to get past 1 player max. Big game is both. Clutch is also wrong messi has scored more off the bench when needed. End of the day u made 100 categories when the 3 main ones by far are finishing, passing/assisting and dribbling. Messi wins all of them. Only finishing they may be level but in terms of goals per minute messi wins.

It’s 2022 and this debate is still going… The only argument against Messi was the missing international trophy, which has now been settled… He was already considered the GOAT at the age of 23. Everything after that is all for publicity and for hype.

People who believe ronaldo is the GOAT arent using international Trophies as a argument. Although looking at the odds he managed to win the EUROS and UNL. The thing is beside from their abilities the clear cut difference is their career and overall legacy. Ronaldo what he did with ManUnited, Real Madrid and Juventua wont be repeated. Especially the first two. Not mentioning his adaptability(its a result of ronaldos abilities actually called both tactical football and off the ball forward work). Now as you can see how Messi is performing in such a club and in such a league. Well it's really bad for his standards. Ronaldo? He is playing in the Premier League and is still one of the best scorers there and in the UCL one of the best. All that while his team being dominated. A GOAT isnt based on abilities. Ability wise one can argue how they want. A fact will remain. Can you ever proof me that ronaldo is athletic-, professionalism and legacy wise surpassed by any other player? I doubt it.
