Countess Coloratura. The word itself is actually a musical term used in singing from what I've heard. FYI, this was Amy Keating Roger's last episode with the show and it was a bittersweet moment since she's my favorite writer. Also Rara was voiced by Broadway star, Lena Hall. Lena won a Tony last year and in her speech she did say, "Friendship is magic!" Implying she was going to guess voice in the show lol. Both Lena and Amy confirmed that the Countess's look was inspired by Lady Gaga hehe.

Here’s the brief version of how this episode came to be: Coloratura/Rara was voiced by Lena Hall, who is an awesome singer and Broadway actress. She even won the 2014 Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for her performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. When she won her Tony, she finished her acceptance speech with "Friendship is magic!" Fun Fact: Twilight mentions Pinkie's music industry connections and something called the Ponypaloosa Rock Concert at the start of the episode. This is a reference to an MLP chapter book by G.M. Berrow that came out before season 4. It was the first official MLP content to name all of Pinkie's family members (except Maud, but she was hinted at without being named).

Hello LaDix. Like most people, you got hung up on Countess Coloratura's name. A Coloratura is a singer, usually a Soprano, that can accurately and quickly sing various notes called for in a song. So, Countess Coloratura would translate into the Princess of Singing, I'd guess. Her voice and singing voice were done by Lena hall, a Broadway actress and singer that has won a Tony award for her talent. In her acceptance speech, right at the end, she said: "Friendship, really is Magic". She's been a long time Pony fan, and loves the show. When asked if she'd consider doing so, she immediately said 'YES!!'. :) enough from me, the Frank Pony
